Ok, as promised on another thread here are around 70 pics I took on Saturday from the Athens Bike show.
The selection is limited to European bikes, some are merely of interest to me, some are new on the market and there is also a prototype (Moto Morini Grandpasse).

I didn't take pictures of the info-boards this time as they were in Greek and, as much as I love you all, I wasn't going to launch into a translation project.

MOTO GUZZI.
___________

The new Dual-Purpose (On-Off) STELVIO 1200cc.

The 1200cc Norge.

The MG 1200 Griso.

The MG 850 Griso.

The MG 1200 Sport.

KTM
___

The 990cc KTM Adventure...

... in Grey

... in Orange

and in the Dakar version.

The 690 Duke, I liked this one's ... um ... eyes.

The 990 SuperMotard

The long-awaited RC8.

The SUPER-DUKE ...

... in black

and in orange.

DUCATI
______

The 1000cc classics.

The 1098.

BIMOTA.
_______

The 1000cc DB6 DELIRIO.

MOTO MORINI.
____________

Two variants of the Moto Morini CORSARO ...

The SCRAMBLER variant.

The 1200cc Grandpasse Dual-Purpose Prototype ...

APRILIA.
________

The 1000cc MILLE (my current mistress)

... and the TUONO streetfighter variant.

BMW.
____

The new 800cc Parralel Twin GS Dual-Purpose (a bike that makes me dream of unlimited horizons/conditions).

In black and yellow ...

... and in Grey/black.

It's bigger brother ... the 1200 GS Adventure.

The R1200R (a beautiful black/white pin-stripe paint-job ... pity it can't be seen in the picture).

MV AGUSTA.
__________

The F4 (a mistress I would like to acquire soon).

The 910 Brutale version.

TRIUMPH.
________

and last but not least, the national distributor's upgraded T100 Bonneville ..

The show is on until next Sunday and I will be visiting it again at least one more time (2 miles from home), so if anyone wants me to check something out, please feel free to whistle.

That's it folks!

I hope you enjoy them.

Pick a date my friend.

Like I said above "a bike that makes me dream of unlimited horizons/conditions".
I have been drooling over this one for quite some time, but I have other travel plans still in the pipeline.
I could, of course, make an exception if you where to ... nod at me.

F800, 1200 GS, or Stelvio 1200? Nice choices...I think maybe the F800 for some real out of the way traveling, like the Trans-Alaska Highway

Oldroadie,

Exactly, one of the reasons I'm a bit hooked on the F800 is because it is significantly lighter than the other 2 therefore would be better suited to do a lot of off-road work that would be encountered on a looooong expedition.
The other 2 are also superb bikes but a bit heavy for that purpose.

I'd like to know how well that new Rotax motor is going to hold up before heading out beyond reach, though.

From what I've read, Rotax ironed out the wrinkles in the F800 line since the 1st and early 2nd generations.

I've always dug the F800ST and F800S (one of the few bikes that I'd give up the Thruxton for).

Thanks, Thanassis, for taking the trouble to go all the way to the Show on our behalf. It must have been quite a chore and very tedious for you. To think you might even have taken time off from work to do it - what a man you are

Gotta say I do like the MOTO GUZZI Stelvio 1200.

Oh My!!!!!

Italian motorcycles.

Ducatis coooorrrrr!!!
Aprilias cooooorrrr!!!

Moto Guzzis, coooor..OH! What were they thinking with that ugly 2 into 1 exhaust. Liked everything about the Guzzis except those pipes (or should that be PIPE)

Thanks for the pictures Thanassis, very well done, but as my old dad always used to say "If a jobs worth doing, its worth doing well" next time please give us the info boards and translation please.

Oh YEAH! Now THIS puppy looks like a whole lot o' fun!!!

The 1200cc Grandpasse Dual-Purpose Prototype ...

And I kind'a like this one too, but what's with that nose???!!! Maybe the guys at Moto Morini were tryin' to say that this bike can go anywhere...just like Rocky Mountain Longhorn Sheep can.
(which I kind'a think the front of this otherwise nice lookin' machine resembles a little)

and...

Have to agree with ya Thanassis. Probably just about the right size and weight machine to do just that, alright!

And BTW, thanks for posting these pics!

Thanks for the pics Thannassis. I don't think we'll see the Moto Morinis on this side of the world. The 800GS has piqued my interest. Even though I have delusions of my wife wanting, or being able to tour, she really doesn't seem to keen on the idea even after we went around to the dealers a couple of weeks ago and both of us sat on the Yamaha FJR1300 and Honda ST1300. She still likes to ride, but I think the thought of 400+ miles a day for a week or more at a time has her a bit put off on that concept.

So with all that in mind my attention gets averted back to the 800GS. It's been delayed being shipped to the dealers here until at least the fall. And I'm wondering with the dollar so weak against the Euro if BMW can hold to their listed price of $10,520 in the USA. One rumor I heard has them delaying it further to 2009 over here so they can up the price.

I hope Triumph can come out with something similar with their rumored Tiger Cub, as long as it's not a clone of their current Tiger 1050. I'd like something at least as dirt worthy as the 800GS. There's a ton of roads off the asphalt here in Arizona to explore.

F800riders.org is a good forum to keep an eye on if you're seriously interested in one of these bikes. New owners of the 800GS in Europe are starting to pop in over there, in addition to the 800S and ST owners who've already been posting awhile.

Some beautiful bikes there Thanassis. I particularly like the pics of the bikes we can't get over here. It's nice to see what some of the other companies in the industry are doing that we never get to see. Oh and more of the girls sitting on the bikes.

Wow...I really should pay attention to who's posting. Until I read wojo's post, I still thought these were shots form some bike show in Athens, GA USA...I thought it was odd that there were so many Italian bikes in Georgia.

Thanks for the pics though. Some great looking rides in there.

John, it's one of the reasons I included them (the bikes, not the girls ), I thought they might be of interest.

I can see how it would be easy to get confused.

There are 14 'Athens' in this world ... 13 of them are in the US.

Very cool Thanassis .
I think if I had the Norge and the 800GS in addition to my Speedmaster, that would be close to perfect

I don't know what to think John, I mean ... I went up to her and asked her to say something for BonnevilleAmerica.com on video and she came back with ... "Hello Wojo!".

I was perplexed ... to say the least!
