Brighter Headlamp - Easiest Swap Out?

I'm looking for a simple bulb replacement for the anemic stock lamp that comes on the America. After reading through many posts I'm still a little confused as there seem to be some fit issues.

So the question comes down to a recommendation for the best replacement lamp that I can just swap out from the stock one, without rewiring or relays or problems replacing the cover frame.

Thanks!

It's a bit pricy, but I'm happy with the PIAA 70456 H4 bulb.I've been using PIAA in all my toys and they last in my experience. Some buds who got lesser priced bulbs had them burn out rather soon. My PIAA is from my old bike and still good after 3 seasons.

I went for the expensive but cool Trilient bulb, but really, from what everybody says, the Slvania is an easy swap and better light. Check the Archives.

+1 I did that swap last week and it took about 5 min. just as easy as swapping the OEM bulb.

I totally agree with the choice of the Sylvania. I replaced the H4 twice in the span of several months. Been having the Sylvania for a couple of years now and its a vast improvemnt over the stock bulb.

I didn't see the Sylvania bulb info in the Tech Vault. It needs to be there under "Electrical" so I can find it when mine burns out.

As you can see, there are many options. Quick and easy, run down to auto parts for a Sylvania Silverstar. I had one for a good while and switched to this one. I opted for the 100w bulb. Had it for over a year now, still happy.

Anything with an H4 will fit.

I've heard of the Silverstar standalone bulbs burning out fairly quickly, but the sealed beam being more durable...
