I've just bought my first bike, a 2003 TBA (2000miles, mint condition). Are there any major issues i should be aware off?? the bike looks and sounds great, but any advice would be very appreciated. Hopefully i've made the right decision with this bike, it was this or a Harley Sportster.

Congratulations and Welcome!!! You definitely made the right choice over the sporty. The only issue really, is that you are here posting rather than out riding But really, our bikes are rock solid. Just do your maintanence (change oil, lube chain, check brakes, etc) and you'll be good.

Welcome and kiss your bank balance good bye ...... a bit more info on where you are from will help as our American /Australian/European cousins all have different terminology for things. But ask away these guys in here have answered some of the weirdest questions relating to our bikes. Check out some of the links also they can be a great help in leading you to the divorce courts. Some of our friendly members/vendors I am sure are on retainers with local lawyers.

That's a good score, now take that garage queen out and put some miles on her.

The main problem, a really major one is all the hours you will spend hearing about the one "just like it" that someone had back in '63 and answering that. "Yes they still make Triumph and, no, they never really stopped except for a few months in '02 when there was a fire in the factory. Otherwise, production was cut back to a few dozen units a week while the company was being re-organized under new ownership, but never really stopped except during a sitin that resulted in manufacturing rights to the Triumph twins being handed off to a 'co-op'.

2,000 miles? That is brand new. congrats and enjoy. I consider my 2003 to be almost new, and I have 26,000 on mine. That is low mileage for this site. Ride safe, and welcome.

There was a recall to move the rear brake reservoir up higher so you didn't lose the rear brake if you dropped the bike on the left side. Normal position is mounted to the frame near the bottom of the cooler. The recall provided a bracket to position it higher. I got the bracket but never installed it. And, yes, if you drop it on the left, you lose the rear brake.....

Being that she is an 03 with only 2k miles, there is a likelihood of the fuel system having some buildup in it. You might want to use some Sea Foam in the next couple of tanks...

Nice score, btw!

Hmmmm, I had an interesting time there with your local Constabulary back in 1988... Wonder if they'd remember me?
