I need to ship my bike from Boston to Seattle. Any ideas on the best, cheapest way to do that? Everyplace I get a quote online is about $900 one way. Ideas all?

Can you rent a trailer and do it yourself?

These guys seem to have a good rep HaulBikes and the price looks to be in the $700 range. Coast to coast shipping is going to be pricey no matter where you look...

I've just arranged to ship my bike from seattle to upstate new york in mid august - I did it through "shipping masters" but the carrier is haulbikes. Total cost 578. I imagine Boston would be the same.

Shipping masters was a worthwhile find, they offered me 3 or 4 alternatives and explained a lot of the terms. fellow I dealt with was paul, they have an online quote system.

I recommend Uship specifically 'English Movers"

Looks like I was beat to it, but you pay the expenses and I'll do it - I got nothing else going on......

If I could make the timing work I'd ride back myself but not as an economy measure. besides the gas there's rooms, food, etc. hard not to spend $100/day on the road.
