I'm new to this forum. Picking up my first Triumph this coming Saturday and have a question about the stock indicators. I hate the color (and size) of the stock lights. Does anyone know of a easy lens swap (looking for a smoke or dark amber)? I'd be willing to change out the entire light if need be. What are my options? Anyone have pics they can share?

I also know someone replaced the plastics with clear ones and orange bulbs, but I cannot recall who..

I did these on mine, front are amber and rear are red but both look smoked when not in use.

And these on Wendys bike. I don't have any good shots of what I was going to show you on my photobucket acct. I used $8 old school bullets. These are at J&P but they are $12 there.
OK apparently the forum doesn't like the jpeg format so here is a link to them clickity click
They are very close to what I used on her bike. Once photo post is back up you can see them on her bike if I don't upload the shots to photo bucket.

OK uploaded the other shots of Wendys bike.
These were very easy to do, I took the bulbs out of the origonal lights and put them right in these.

A lot of folks put on Kuryakyn Silver bullets, small or large in size. I don't believe they are any easy swap options for the lens on the factory pumpkins. Here's my small, silver bullets on the fronts. Ma's Cycles sells install kits for these lights, Brent at New Speedmaster probably does as well (go Brents way if there is a choice)

I remember that he said he had to open up the screw holes to make them fit but said it wasn't too bad to do. I don't remember what the lenses were supposed to fit though.

I used clear indicator lenses from the "old" mini for the front(with amber bulbs) and Land rover series 1 brake lamp lenses for the back. They cost about three dollars each from Flea-bay. They fit perfect after a little re-sizing of the mounting holes.Check out my photopost when it comes back.

If you're really really tired of them, you could go to the extreme...

I presume you mean the Skulls Merle, I cannot see why not they still show up when the indicator is flashing and can be seen pretty well. Then again I think that would depend whereabouts you are in the world as well.

If you are talling about mine. Yes, it is legal. If you look close at the mirror stems, I have two sets of light strips on each one and they are just as visible as the stock signals.

Thanks Soren, I didn't see them. I like the clean look. I was thinking about using the kuryankn mirros to accomplish the same thing. Years ago it was legal to remove them totally and just use hand signals but i don't think you can do that today.

I did the clear lense thing too. I used different bulbs, they weren't intense enough. the lenses didn't fit on the assemblies perfectly but good enough to try. the seller is in England selling on e-bay and sold for about $40 us. just speak up if interested and I'll look into how to get ahold of him.

My guess is the lenses are typically Lucas style.
I used the actual Lucas lights on the back.

where did you pick up the one's you're showing on your bike? Were you able to use the stock stalks? How hard was the installation? I like the way these look smoked when not in use.

I also noticed you have risers on your speedmaster...what manufacturer did you go with? Were you able to use the stock cables (were they all long enough)? How tall are you...did you find that the new riding position is more comfortable?

The signals are Kurkyan or how ever it's spelled I got from my friends bike shop. They are available anywhere. Mine are LED and require a new flasher or a load resistor to work but they make the same lights with a bulb in them instead that doesn't require anything to use. The front all I did was drill the stock mounts and mount to the top of the mount instead of under. They have a threaded hollow bolt that the wire comes out of. On the back I used a stainless spacer from the hardware store and a longer threaded stud. On both I cut the plug off my old indiwinkers and soldered them on the new lights so I can unplug them if I needed to.

The risers are 4 1/2" rise and 1 1/2" pull back made for HD ,got them from Ebay for $39 and added America bars. I used America throttle and clutch cables and break line and they work fine. The throttle cables had to be routed to the other side of the frame.
