I don't understand how you can install this since the housing of the original seems to hold it all together, and what about the parking lamp? Or am I a idiot...

Well.....here in the US ya dont really need the parking lamp.
All you need to do is unscrew the outer circular piece and then unplug the OEM assembly and plug in the new sealed beam.
It DOES provide a much better lighting experience than the OEM....both low and high beams are greatly improved as far as true functionality.

Thanks, it's much better than stock. Now if it only it would warm up a bit.

Take a ride out to the Island and I'll give you a hand Did mine, works AWESOME. I just tucked the parking light plug back in the bucket with some tape around it. No biggie. Took a little doing to get the weird spring thing that holds the whole thing to the chrome ring on there, I think the sealed beam is a little thicker than the OEM lense, but it gets in there and stays put.

I think it's in the Tech Vault, and I think bennybmn was one of the first (credit where due and all that) but the one I used is a Sylvania H6024 Halogen. I got mine at Advance Auto parts. 1.5 caveats however, it is a really tight fit - installing the spring retainer results in little crunching noises - and if you currently have a visor, just remove it and save yourself some grief. Ain't gonna happen. The above statement is based on my experience and I approve this message...

I couldn't find the xv so I got the silverstar one sylvania makes. I think it is halogen but I'm not sure. I like it better than stock though.

My Drag Specialties visor fit in there. Also, pay attention to the way the spring thing fits in there when you start. Its a little discouraging to run out of room after your fingers are bloodied.

I put the in a trillient tribar headlight from Custom Dynamics. It made a lot worse noises than crunching! Seriously didn't want to fit, but with a lot of swearing and prying, I finally got it squeezed in. I hope it's a long time before I have to take it out for anything! Looks really cool, though!

I wasn't the first, but I definitely jumped on the bandwagon early on! The 6024 part is the important part of the equation. Whatever variant/brightness version you want is up to you, but that one will fit. I think mine is a mid-grade, not quite silverstar...

Does the OEM have the brass colored adjustable bracket around it????? On my T-100 I mounted the new lamp in the bracket. Take all I have to do is stick the new bulb in w/o the bracket????

The sealed beam is held into the rim with 3 spring clips that sometimes could make a preacher swear. That is as far as my speedmaster goes. I can't speak for the t100.
