Im not sure if America ever got to see these movies. But in the 60's and 70's there was number of "Carry On' movies made. Though some of the later ones were a little silly, the early ones were just brilliant. Now there is talk of another Carry On movie. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7292810.stmThis is classic British slap stick. My favorite Carry On movie would have to be Carry On Cabbie. The 196? black and white movie with Sid James, Hattie Jacques and co based around a taxi company. Very funny. If they make this movie then i hope they do the Carry On name justice.

How would you explain the Carry on films to our American friends
The films would now be so watered down as to be unfunny as a lot of the humour would be considered to be un PC.
My Favourite Carry On up the Kyhber....Wikipedia has a lot to say about the series of carry on films.
It contains much comedy specifically aimed at a British audience. For instance, on entering the Khasi's palace, a gong is struck, at which Kenneth Williams comments 'Rank stupidity' which is a reference to the strongman striking a gong at the start of Rank Organisation films. He also tries to refer to the British Queen by other names of London railway stations, not Victoria, e.g. Queen Waterloo, Euston. He also refers to the pending execution of the rescue team by the 'Death of a Thousand Cuts' by saying 'the British are used to cuts' referring to the cutbacks in Government spending before and probably during the time of the filming
Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond (Sid James) Private Widdle (Charles Hawtrey) Bungdit Din (Bernard Bresslaw) The Khasi of Khalabar (Kenneth Williams)

I must admit I did think that carry on up the Kyber was probably the best but I quite liked carry on screaming as well.
Personally I think they should have not bothered making any more and just let sleeping dogs lie.
Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.
