Seriously thinking about getting one of these. Anyone else have one and have any feedback? I am especially interested in the weight factor on longer rides.

I currently ride in a 3/4 with full visor.

Thanks

Just bought the Mrs a Nolan N-102 N-Com, not put headphones etc in yet though. Compared to her Shoei, she says it feels very light and very comfortable. She has not used it on the bike yet though to comment on noise etc. I will have to wait

I don't trust the retention system on the Nolans

I wanted to look at these but i can't find a dealer that carries them locally. I won't but a helmet without looking at it and trying it on. I had a bad experience with a purchase over the net.

I have a Nolan 102. In the Florida heat the forehead padding becomes soaked with sweat in short order. I don't like the external flip up tinted visor, or maybe I just never got used to it. When I flip it up, it ruins the aerodynamics. Otherwise, its a good helmet. Doesn't try to lift off my head at high speeds like my HJC, has a snap-in chin wind blocker for cold weather. It also came with an anti-fog shield that pops inside the visor which is impossible to fog up, even if I coughed or sneezed. Having the extra shield in there causes kind of a double vision effect, however, when riding at night. Took me a while to get used to that. Lights reflect between the shields so every headlight or other light has a twin. It is good quality (should be for almost $300), and the chinbar release mechanism is easily operated with gloves on. Seems loud to me, but I always wear earplugs, and I hear that all full-face flip ups are louder. I keep it for winter, still looking for ideal, affordable summer helmet.

I've been wearing one for almost two years. Overall, it's my favorite lid.. You might end up dumping the sun visor though. I like using it during the day, but it bothers me when in the up position. My sun visor began to rub mark right in the center of the shield. Not enough to bother me, but it would have gotten worse if I had left it on. (Nolan needs to make the sun visor more stiff)

I've had no problem with the anti-fog insert either.

Night-time optics are not as crisp as my SyMax, but overall it is still a better helmet.

When looking for a non black(hotter than he!!) 3/4 helmet I was seriously considering a Nolan. From what I have read their helmets got high consumer ratings, esp. on comfort.
There was no way for my current helmet lock would work on a Nolan so I went with Bell. Other wise I would of got a Nolan.

I bought one over the weekend and really like it so far. I like the fact it has a Bluetooth port on the side. I love the quick release chin strap. I got a flat silver one for visability and to reflect heat.

Flat finish will absorb more heat, while glossy will reflect more.

I've ridden with the Nolan modular for 2 years and like it very much. The locking mechanicism seems very robust to me.

Just got the next model up N103, basicly same lid slight variations biggest is the tinted extra visor has move inside and flips up and down real easily as does the flip front, REALLY easy to use. [image]http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/43_103/products_id/5129[/image]
Nice weight good balance. I was a bit apprehensive with the latching chin strap but once played around with and adjusted & SETUP correctly..... NOT an issue, very easy to use gloves and no gloves, very secure and very adjustable and comfortable too..
Cheers , Mike.

Yes, It is a good helmet. Have used mine for about a year. Warm in the summer but good ventilation and feels better than bugs hitting my face at 60.

It's very comfortable and works well. Vents are easy to operate. Double visor is a little tough to get used too. Overall it's a nice helmet.

I've had a Nolan 102 for 2 years and really like it. I need a new visor but overall it has held up well. The only problem I have-and this not specific to Nolan- is the wind comes around my back and pushes the helmet forward which presses down on my sun glasses which creates pressure on the bridge of my nose. Maybe I'll rig a bungy from the back of the helmet to my luggage rack...

I just went today to Cycle Gear to try one on... not impressed at all. First I gave it a good squeeze, the flip up part became not loose but improperly fitted, seemed way too flimsy to me. The flip up visor is removable so no big deal there, however when it came to fit the medium was a little too loose (it moved easily by shaking my head) and the small was too tight. This helmet is definitely not for me.

I went to another shop and tried the HJC Sy-Max they only had small, gave it a good squeeze too, the flip-up part didn't even move, a lot more sturdy than the Nolan for sure. Even though it was small I tried it on; it was too tight but it was way more comfortable than the Nolan. I'm going to keep searching and see if I find someone that carries the medium size to try it on but I have the feeling that it will fit fine. I was told that they run very similar to Arai when it comes to fit, which is what I had... I loved my Arai and if I can not find an HJC that I can try on I'll go for the Arai again. Too bad they do not make modular helms.

When I bought my Nolan, the shop said they are really best for a non-round head which fits me perfect. I think the HJC is better for rounder heads.

I tried three types of flip ups and found the Nolan best for me and after 2 1/2 years the locking mechanicism is solid as a rock. Our local police just started wearing Nolans-although half the time they ride with it open.

It's all about head shape, I found the Vega Summitt II fit me best even though I was very desirous of the HJC.
