New to the site. Purchased a 2003 America Saturday, put 200 miles on it yesterday. nice ride.

Have a few questions !

Can I order an extra key from triumph with a VIN number?
Did it come standard with a tool kit? Owners Manual?
I do need to replace the Speedo? where is a good place to pick one up?

Tool kit, no. Owners manual, yes. Can you talk to your dealer about the key and speedo? I think there's a speedo on ebay right now. Alternatively, you could install a mini speedo from any major bike vendor (J&P Cycles, Drag Specialties, etc.) on the handlebars or in the dash or a Veypor from Newspeedmaster.com or a Dakota Digital speedo in the dash. I wouldn't replace that bulky stock thing with another bulky stock thing. But if you insist on buying one and buying it new, and your dealer is no help, try bikebandit.com.

There is a ton of info on this site about each of these options. If the photopost was fixed I'd point you to pictures of the aftermarket speedos I mentioned.

HEY! I like the bulky inaccurate stock thing! Reminds me of the Vincent speedo.

Good year...the best ones are from 03....

No it doesn't come with a tool kit, but yes there should be a book...it contains basic maintainance stuff, but that can be seen online

Why replace the speedo? It's part of it's character how many miles it's done.

And keys...I dunno. But someone else will

Welcome to the madhouse!

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Jim, I was trying to post up a picture of the bike. Your link worked great. Printing it now.

My speedo has a dent , and the trip reset knob is gone.

That's where the owners handbook usually goes. Not a good idea to leave it there though because the door could pop open and the book would be lost.

If you have a set of keys, you can get blanks from your nearest dealer and any decent locksmith should be able to cut them to match. If you are missing a key, a really good locksmith can still work out the key code and cut you a replacement.

Won't try to add to everyone elses postings on your questions. The Woodlands, is that east Texas, West Texas, North or South? You'll love that bike. I've got an 06 and can't seem to ride it enough with 17,5XX miles on it. Take your time and check out the site. Lots of good info. Use the search option and the archives but if a topic has been covered, most everyone doesn't mind talking about old topics again and again. Its like, "snatch the pebble from my hand Grasshopper." The Gurus just love to tell it again.

Take care, welcome to the forum.

Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

I love The Woodlands. It's so cool that they put pine trees everywhere. Beautiful. The only problem is that it's too close to Houston . Welcome aboard!

The Woodlands is about 35 miles north of Houston. Nice place to raise a family.

If I ever had to live near Houston The Woodlands would be the place I'd live. It's beautiful down there.
