Hi folks, I recently went to my local dealer to see the new RIIIT, & I must say, it was quite impressive. Even better in person than in the photos. But this 07 Speedmaster on the showroom floor kept calling out to me... Well, I did something I never thought I would do, given my interest in the RIIIT...I bought the SM! It's currently being outfitted as a day-tripper, before delivery, with the following accessories: Stage II with airbox removal, long TORS & dynotune; AI removal; Chrome flyscreen; Lightbar; Engine dresser bars; Footboards; & (drumroll please!...) New Bonnie Hardbags I usually do my own wrenching, so it's kinda nice to have the dealer do it for a change. The color is two-tone black/sunset red. I'm looking forward to enjoying this bike. It will make a nice match for my backroad-scratching LSL-modded 2002 Speed Four. I'm glad to be here & hope to contribute along the way. Regards, Ken

Welcome aboard, Ken! Maybe later you can go back and get the R3 also! As the old saying goes, " two in the garage is worth more than one hardly", or something like that.

Thanks for the welcome. I haven't ruled out the R3T for some future day, but for now I'm going to enjoy that SM.
Interestingly, the local dealer was only alloted two 08 R3T's, & of those, one is a demo which for the foreseeable future isn't for sale. After the one 08 is gone, future R3T sales will be via deposits for the 09's.
As for me, I'm happy to have an 07 SM...it's as good a place to start as any to make it mine. And it has the cutout tank!

Welcome. I picked up my SM on 2/5 and although it's my 1st Triumph, I feel like I've been reunited with an old friend. I only have +/- 700 miles on it, but it's only a matter of time before the thousands start ticking off. I'd like to hear how it runs with the customs added. Enjoy
