I am looking for a cheaper sissy bar with luggage rack for my 03 America. I just really don't feel like paying over 300 for a new one. Thanks.

It's still avaiable but the shippers said it'd be about $100 to ship to WA from FL. So I need to sell it to someone closer:)

I know there were some available here, but I saw all the PM's and didn't understand right away...I guess I just figured they were sold by now. Of course, at 100 for shipping, I'd be insane not to just pick up the brand new ones on eBay for 309. Nope, if I don't find some for 200 or less, I will work on building my own. That's what I did for my saddle bag guards and those turned out pretty nice...for a whole $16 and some change.

There's gotta be something wrong with that shipping cost. No way. Check someone else.

So you built saddle bag guards not the sissy bar and luggage rack for $16. Just trying to get the comparison. Did you build your sissy bar and rack also? I would like to see any home made ones to compare the looks and creativity. I bought the one mentioned above and paid $250 with the shipping. Seemed like a fair price. I questioned the shipping also and he came down. I figured he went to one of the UPS store that box it up for you and all which adds to the cost. I will get it next week. I will let you know if it was worth it or not.

UPS has an online estimator for shipping costs. I put in the zip codeds for from and to and guessed about 25 pounds material and it came up with three that I would even consider. $26 for ground, $62 for three day, $101 for two day. After that I did not care what over night was.

I just built the bag guards...not the sissy/luggage. I just don't have the resources to go that far (a welder would go a long way). I'm not close to the family farm anymore, otherwise I would use my dad's shop. Perhaps in the future, I can build something if I ever get back home and ship it back to myself (pretty hard to do without the bike present). At any rate, anyone know of a sissy bar from another brand of bike that will fit a Bonnie America? I'm sorry if it's already been discussed in these forums...I'm too pooped out tonight to search.

I seen the way the unit is made in the New Triumph parts site is and that one is okay but I do not like the way it is attached to the rear finder. I like the way Triumph stock sissy bar is attached with the fitted chrome. After that I wouldn't mind trying to make my own. I have all the tools and access to material just need the experience. Is getting pieces chromed expensive? I have never done that before?

I have a Triumph Sissy bar (short) with luggage rack that I want to sell. I can sell it for 200 plus shipping if interested...
I'm going to place it on ebay if there aren't any takers here... just send me a PM.
