I just heard that Boyd Coddington passed away this morning. Sad news for the hot rod crowd. I couldn't stand his TV show, but his shop turned out some pretty cars....

Learning from my mistakes... again and again.

Yeah... the cars his people built for his name were amazing. HIS visions for the cars were awesome.

I hope his sone can keep the business in good standing and not run it into the ground.

I would like to know what happened to him. He wasn't a spring chicken or anything but he didn't look like he was sick on the show. I wasn't a regular watcher but from time to time flipping through the channels something would catch my eye and I would watch that build. The contest one was pretty good where his workers did a flat head ford old school.

Lots of talent and vision, but he probably griped and moaned himself to death. His show would have been better without the drama IMHO.

i was not a big fan of how he ran his business and treated his guys (which is why all the best went to foose) but it is sad when someone who is really not very old passes. not sure if his son can do what he did with the place. i also would really like to know what the cause was

... Coddington who was a long-time diabetic died from complications that were brought on from a recent surgery. It was Coddington's ever forward-looking view at the design of the hot rod and his unconditional desire to create the finest quality cars that became the "Boyd Look".
