I am installing the TBS needles, new idle mix screws and replacing original carb screws with allen heads this weekend. I was looking at the technical help section for "Carburetor Modifications" to see how best to accomplish this task. I noticed that they recommend that the vacuum port hole in the slide should be drilled out to 1/8". Has anyone done this, and if so, what is the advantage of doing this? Also tried to go to Dinqua's Carb Site but said the link was incorrect.
Thanks for any advice, Alan

Alan, I haven’t done it but the advantage of drilling out the vacuum port hole in the slide to 1/8", is a quicker throttle response. Isn't the bit size 3/64"? Pat's Triumph Site

Makes sense. I did the drilling when I did the TBS needles. Not sure how much of a difference it made alone, but the two together did make a marked difference.

AMAZING!! Just when I think I have something new I find you old salts have "been there, done that". Makes life a lot easier for us rookies. Thanks. My 7/64" bit is ready for action.

and there's this as well... Triumphant's slide drilling info I haven't done this mod yet. I'm happy with what I have now. This winter I may get antsy and try this...

FYI, the metal in these carbs is wicked soft, so just be sure you are going nice and straight. Then I took a much larger drill bit and (by hand) used it to de-burr the holes. 10 minute job.
