Those little black plugs on the sides of plate on the top of the gas tank make me crazy. They need to be filled with something. Preferably something useful.

What have others done to fill them?

I totally agree. I can't think of anything that might go in there off the top of my head. Would be a nice place for a clock or a compass if you could find one small enough to fit in there without too much cutting.

Maybe an auxiliary outlet for a GPS? Maybe not...I don't know.

Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

what kind of switch are you going to use there? A little rocker or some sort of momentary on switch would go nicely there I bet...

I mounted a mini garage door opener under the console and used a chrome push type switch from the hardware store to activate it

Wow...That's a great little kit. Nice price too.
Have you installed the switch already? Was it pretty easy? Were there directions? Electrical is really not my bag, but I've got to learn some time, right?

Oh...I see. Sorry. I thought you were saying you had a working switch in place and were waiting for the indicator.

I have the triumph lightbar installed already and I'd love to get the outboard switch (it's on the bottom of the left light) on the dash.

alright. Well, keep us updated.

I used a mini on-off-on toggle switch in the hole on the left for the driving lights. I've removed the light switch out of the light bucket and tied the new switch into the high beams as well, so now in one position they are on all th time, off, or in "High Beam Mode" they will only turn on when the high beams are on for driving at night on the high ways, this way when I dim the high beam the blinding driving lights will tun off aswell, I like them aimed alittle high and outwards to watch for wild life. It'll only take one deer to end my riding days.

I do have a picture of it but my computer is having a moment and won't let me reduce the image size so it is currently too large for BA Forums to upload.

Vwala, I finaly got the image reduced and uploaded, here it is.

I also picked up a rubber boot to fit it and use a touch of silicone to attach it and seal it from the elements, switch and boot cost ~$5 so if I need to change it in a year or so due to weather, not a big deal.

That sounds like a great set-up. Was that with the kit that was listed above or was this a DIY project?

Where would you rank this project on a 1-5 degree of difficulty for a guy who's only electrical work was adding some aftermarket tail lights?

This was a DIY project, the main difference between the switch I used and SRS Chome's switch is the size. When you use mini toggles or micro switches the wires need to be soldered on where as the larger switches will either have male spade ends which use a female end on the wire or an eyelet end on the wire and attached by a screw. So that allone will change the difficulty. And as far as I know, the switch from SRS Chrome is just a switch of your chosing, you will still have to do the wiring yourself, but isn't all that hard (in my opinion) all the wires are coloured and the accessory plug that the driving lights plug into already has a high beam and low beam leads in it, I had to change the whole plug though cause I couldn't find replacement pins for the factory style plug. That all being said, you can get an idea of what the project like and you can judge for your self. I'm sure you can find aftermarket kits for this type of thing, but you are limited to the components that come with it.

How's about a St. Christopher medal on one side, and one of those air fresheners on the other.

Perhaps someone might know of a source for a blinking LED, so that it looks like an alarm?

I use the left for the light bar and the right to control heated gloves. Wired thru relay so the wires would not be so big under the console. I used the smallest toggle switches I could find.

I have toggle switches in both sides - left for hazard lights (that takes some re-wiring) and right for lightbar. I Also have an LED with a chrome bezel mounted between the two lower idiot lights for alarm.

If you're just after a blinking LED most electronics shops sell them for less than a dollar.
