I just got new Carbone Lorraine pads from Brent. I plan to flush the old fluid while I'm at it, but was wondering about applying some backing plate goo to reduce noise. Also, does anyone use those abrasive tricks (like a scotch green pad) in a die grinder or drill to smooth the discs? Mine both look fine, but I'm sure they have some surface imperfections.
Also, I noticed that the front pads are the SBK5+ for sportbikes and the rears are RX3 for street bikes. WTF??

Any input is appreciated. Oh, the original owner (rode the BA only 2400 miles out of the 13,000 total) must have used the back brake only, because the pads look almost the same now (1-2 mm or so just looking at them on the bike) as it did when I got it. The front pads are OK so I'll hold off replacing them for now. BTW, I have the stock rotors. A set of the floaters would be nice, maybe when the OEMs need replacing.
