That I am alergic to strawberries. Woke up took a shower woke the kid up and we went down stairs. We sat watched a few cartoons and ate pop tarts. About 5 min later my mouth was tingeling, my tounge was swelling, and my throat was getting tight.. It is a feeling I know all to well seeing as how I am deathly alergic ot peanuts.. Woke the wife and told her i am going to the ER. She took at look at me and asked what the heck was wrong with my face. Seems it was pretty swelled up also. So she called 911, ambulance came started a line, got a shot of epi, the some IV benadryl. So I have had a pretty exciting morning thus far. Hopefully it wont rebound.

How old are you? You just realized your allergic to 'em?

i'm 32, and no I have never had a problem with them. At least i am thinking it was the strawberries. It could have been some peanut product left on the poptart its self also..

Did not find out i was alergic ot peanuts till i was 25. Was sittign on the rear bumper of a ambulance eating boiled peanuts and all of a sudden I could not talk, and was having trouble moving air.

Allergies are strange like that. You can be fine with somethign all your life the all of a sudden BANG your alergic.

It'd be worth some research.

I've been allergic to work for as long as I can remember.

Seems like i read where Pop Tarts now are out of print, so to speak.
But, yeah, i've had stuff like that happen. I still haven't figured out what it was. One time my throat just shut down, couldn't speak. When i finally could speak my voice was like an octave down (i have a low voice anyway). It was great! I was singing songs of Johnny Cash, Webb Wilder and Junior Brown and i was way lower in register than them. My wife freaked i sounded so much like them. So i had fun in adversity, briefly.
I also would have swelled lips...looked like a native African with an implant. That sucked.

Oh...sorry to hear of your affliction! Must've been really bad to have to call the nine hundred and eleven people.
Hopefully it'll fade away like mine did.

Not really sure what it was, but it scared the stew out of me.. Dont know whats worse, knowing whats going on, or knowing what will happen pretty fast if I did not get some meds on board.. May have called 9-1-1 but only 2 people showed up lol..

FJ, have you toaked ot the disabilty board about your allergey? Maight be able ot get on disabilty for it lol..

Yeh, me too.
I grew up catching fresh seafood around home. Fish, crabs, prawns etc. A few years ago I am BBQing some bugs( a flat lobster/crab thing) for Chrissy and bang, tongue goes numb lips swell. I new what it was.
Worse than coming back as a harley rider!!!!

So far I'm not allergic to anything, I don't even get poison ivy. My grandfather and I used to rip it down out of the trees in our stone rows wearing jeans and T shirts. Then we would burn the vines. Never so much as a even little itch.
