Having looked for a summer alternative to my CruiserWorks side zip boot I finally broke down and purchased the Alpinestars Stroke shoe. It turned out to be a good move. The Stroke has all the ankle, arch and toe support you need for riding and is lighter and cooler than mid-calf boots. An added plus is that they are water resistant. Construction and appearance is very good. The only down side is that they are made in China. Oh well...damned near everything is anymore. In any case, if you're looking for some cooler, lighter foot wear check out the Alpinestars Stroke shoe. They can also double as a casual shoe when you're not on the road. That's one less item to carry in your already valuable cargo space. They run $130 bucks, but that's still $100 cheaper than most quality boots.

Having worn the Stroke for a few days riding I can honestly say They're worth the money. Lighter than my boots, as well as more comfortable for all day use in the heat. It takes a few days to break them in so if you intend on riding with them wear them a bit first. Every so often you find something that lives up to the hype. This riding shoe does just that.

After 2500 miles in triple digit weather I have come to the conclusion that my Alpinstars Stroke Shoe were the way to go. Light and comfortable they served me well in the summer heat.
