I was tossed on if I was going to paint the tba or not,....

Well I just took the first step tonight... I sanded down the sidecover and removed the stickers under the clear coat.

I'll be heading up to the garage for the front fender yet..

Need to know the size/ type of torx that holds the tank badges on... Saving that for last... need the tool...

Still torn on the color... Either a dark pearl blue or a dark burnt orange pearl... Leaning towards the orange...
Older HD Aztek orange color... current HHR has a similar color...

don't forget that it's a security bit, meaning the torx has a hole to accept the little post in the center of the screw head. I forget the size but have to go check anyway tomorrow and if I remember and no one else has posted it I'll post it then.

I think it is a T30 with hole from memory.

T25 security torx. Make sure it's a security torx (whole in the center). You can buy a 1/4" bit at your local Tru-Value for about a buck and use it with a 1/4" socket and ratchet.

Regards,

Tom

I bought a T25 security driver from Ace for like 4 bucks. Already had a whole torx bit set, didn't need more, figured having that one driver handy meant I didn't need to go find my driver set, etc. Just keep it near the bike. So nice to be able to take the badges off in two seconds when I wax the bike.

Bought all the supplies... I will have $120 into everything and have enough left over to almost paint the wifes Vstar and sidecar... Went with a fine Prowler Orange pearl...

All the tins /parts to be painted are in the basement.

All the parts got a nice hot bath in soapy water then a rubdown with grease/wax remover. Everything has been sanded except the tank. Rear fender has a couple of real minor dings and they have been filled... Will be getting to the tank this weekend... Hope to get the paint on all of this Sunday but my mentor may not be available... No biggie as I have the exhaust to install, chain to adjust and jetting to do yet... plus the fairing for my Kingpin is ready for install...

I have bike projects stacked up all of a sudden...and the wife is away this weekend...

way cool....
