Hi David I used Hammerite on my Honda wheels, but you have to use a primer first for Alluminium otherwise it just peels off, you can buy both in a spray can..
you also seen the thread in Rides, rallies and Events on the UK MEET David..

glass bead them and give them a coat of zinc chrome primer.....this will stick to aluminum....then use whatever flat black you choose.....

You need zinc chromate primer for aluminum. It's the green stuff. If you clean and prep the surface and zinc chromate the wheels you should have a nice paint job. The other option is powder coating which is an eletrolysis and electrically bonds the paint to the metal.

I rinse my bike of every night. I have one of those things you're supposed to use for weed killer. mine is full of soapy water. Even use it at 2 am. And once a week take the time to do a proper clean. Having said that I haven't ridden this winter!!!

I use THIS. It smells a bit, but protects the bike just fine. I polished it off just recently... looks good as new now
