That looks cool but so far Star Trek hasn't been as good since Captain James Tiberius Kirk was on the bridge.Looking at that trailer it may be a good one, the ship looks a lot like the original. I did like the last incarnation, Enterprise.

This picks up right where the Enterprise gets it's start, it should be really good. Now, will it be Captain Pike? or...

The commercials looked good. I'm thinkin "Pike". I've also read that it involves Spock's mother.

Dog, I can't agree with you on that one. I was a die hard Star Trek fan when TNG came out, I thought it was a "perversion", I refused to watch TNG until the beginning of season 4 because of it...yep twisted.

You cannot under sell Capt. Jean Luc Piccard, rose on his own and stands equal too James T Kirk! Yes, I said it.

The whole genre is great. I just got done tonight as a matter of fact watching the entire ST movie collection I got for Christmas! ST and TNG! Ended with ST VI.

You know what is really twisted Dog? I don't watch Enterprise either because it's just not right! (I'll come along eventually) Yes, my name is eddy, and I too am a Trekkie ever since my 12 year old eyes beheld the first show, back in the day!

You know what is really twisted? My spell checker knew the correct spelling of Trekkie!

I can't wait either!
But why do they use arc welders instead of laser welding and I guess FOD isn't a issue in the future with all the slag dropping into the ship... Ok, I love to pick movies apart, especially the tecno stuff.

Too bad Captain James T . Kirk had to resort to hawking hotel rooms and vacation packages . Sad , very sad .

Screw that. I want a Babylon 5 feature on the big screen. The direct-to-DVD double episode last year wasn't bad, but I want more. Bigger.

And how about Serenity II while they're at it...

The few, the proud, we dreamers.

As for the Trek, I've heard it's an early Pike and Kirk. I didn't know that J.J. Abrams was directing, he did MI:3. I wonder if he also wrote the script.

I hope it's as good as Star Trek III the Rath of Kahn. IMHO it was the best of the bunch.

Ron,

I think II was the Wrath of Khan. Funny series that, the evens are all much better than the odds.

As for the others:

I for one, like them all, the original, DS9, TNG, Voyager(although I have to say it was a little like Star Trek - Gilligans Island), and Enterprise.

I liked Babylon 5 too, but ...

I think the best transition in redux ever has to be the Cylons of Battlestar Gallactica, from gold plated metal men with swooshy red eyes (in the 70's) to invisible hot chicks.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

I was thinking more of the young Spock casting with Zach Quinto from Heroes. He should be perfect for that part.

Agree on the casting choice for Spock. Simon Pegg will be interesting.

Hopefully now that the writers strike is (hopefully) coming to an end, we can get some good Sci-fi back on TV. I grow tired of American gladiators and Flavor Flav....

Star Trek just ain't the same since Jimmy Doohan went to that Final Frontier - best character of any Trek series, and an honest-to-God WWII hero (y'all know he landed on Sword beach at Normandy and got shot a few times, right?).

+1 on both counts! But the B5 better have Ivanova, and I'm still royally steamed at Joss about Wash.
