I had just filled up with fuel and paid for it, putting my gloves on at 4.30am at the bowser. It was very quiet at that time of the morning. Just about to start my bike (noisy pipes) and a patrol car pulls up at the next bowser. Mr Plod was just sitting there watching me?? I thought about going back into the garage to buy gum or something so I didn't have to start it when he was so close... My bike has a habit of starting with a loud BANG backfire which I actually like !!
Decided to take the chance, started with zero throttle, good no backfire. Clonked it into gear and idled away and down the street. PHEW, he was just getting fuel....

I hate it when that happens. You never know when the lights are going to come on. Sort of like being followed by a wisconsin state trooper for 8 miles with your loud pipes rumbling and then he turns off at the local DMV office. Must of been break time.

My brother's old 78 bonnie does the same thing on that first kick. My 06 TBA does it too. Seems to be unique to the Triumph twins. I like it too brother!

Some Po-lice are pretty cool about bikes, some are not. Your 'Mr. Plod' must have been okay with it. Who knows, he may have had a Bonnie Blue back home in his shed.

That's funny, here in KC the MC cops take a length of rebar and drive it through the mufflers of the new police HDs.

A biker is a biker no matter what clothes or job he has. You have to respect those motorcycle cops. In some areas they ride using post office rules, rain or snow.

Yup...and pray you don't get pulled over by a bike cop on a cold rain-soaked day...
