Here in central Iowa it's the snowiest it’s been for seven years. The very few days of relatively warm weather have been wet and the streets a mess. I’ve never before gone more than a few weeks without taking the Blue Streak out since I bought it. I haven’t been out on the bike since before Thanksgiving. THIS SUCKS. And of course, we just got another foot of that stinkin white stuff!!! At this rate I’ll have to take the beginners riding course again.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I feel your pain. Got a foot yesterday, and more to come next week. I haven't gone for a ride since early Nov. and I froze my butt off then. Global warming my ******!

If it's any compensation at all......it's a pleasant 71 degrees F here in sunny Spain, roads are dry, sun is shining, and we have no tourists at the moment so the roads are empty !!!!

But.....I feel your pain so will think of you as I ride to work tomorrow.

I know what your sayin, and I feel the pain also. The trouble is, we have really been spoiled the past 3 years, with very little snow and warmer than average temp. I laughed out loud last week when a local forcaster on the t.v. forcasted "colder than normal" temp. for next week. Hah! It's freakin February in the midwest, for gosh sakes!Still, hang in there! Maybe it's time to use the old "box fan in front of the handlebar trick", in the garage.

As "snowy" as it seems in these parts, long term numbers indicate we are only 102% of normal, in other words an average snowpack. This following 10+ years of well below average ppt. Hopefully it will translate to better mid-summer streamflows, recharged groundwater and fewer catastophic wildfires come July/August.

Last year our hay production was <1/2 normal, grasshoppers devestated pasture/range in many areas and a 100 square mile wildfire burned across the Thompson River drainage.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..... Oh, the bike has ben hibernating since October. It amazes me every spring how fast it fades into memory. I hope Georgia & SE is getting some moisture, now those folks are hurting

Currently 36F with a west wind at 6 MPH. Forecast high is 60 and low 29. A tolerable riding day, but I have to make a hay run. Might still get in a short run.

Well, I guess that's pretty much true for most places John, but thanks to a certain Mr.William Mulholland a while back, we Angelenos get our water from the eastern Sierras....which leaves us a whole lot o' time to RIDE OUR BEAUTIFUL MACHINES out there in mostly warm and dry weather during THIS time o' year!

(oh lord forgive me, but I just LOVE rubbin' this sort'a thing in around here!)

Ummm...about a hundred miles as the crow flies. But there IS one REALLY close by called the Inglewood-Newport Fault, and that's just a few miles away.

BUT...the way I always figured it, one o' these here small earthquakes usually last some 20 seconds, and the big'uns happen about every 30+ years for about 30 seconds.

Which, if ya think about it, is a heck of a lot less time than those 3 to 4 MONTHS of crappy weather YOU GUYS get EVERY friggin' YEAR!!!

The lord might forgive you Mr. Argo, but others might not. Remember, I'll be at your house later this year, and you WILL have to sleep sometime.( Plus, me and Mr. Fiddych might just shun you)

Well Mike, I THINK I'm more afraid of you and Bob retaliating by "stinkin' up the weather" INSIDE my house that weekend, than I am of anything ELSE at THIS point!!!

Yep! It sure looks as if this year's rally is shapin' up to even better than last year's, what with even more new faces to match up with their prose around here!

Sixteen inches wednesday, traffic on the interstate backed up 40 miles for 9 hours from the white out and the state patrol wasn't even aware of it for half of it. Also minus 9 farenheit sunday morning and some rat in Puxatauney said 6 more weeks of this stuff. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! oops sorry.

Just feel like Ramblin. Sittin here with a Brew...

Was able to give my bike a good Winter Cleanin today. After A good ride around town. Kinda have to be cautious with all the Sand still on the roads. It was awsome, except for trying to keep my 2yr old out of the water puddles on the Side Walk.
