is there a style pipe that is more favored by you triumph owners that use this brand? I'm ready to order and can't decide which to get... I want a good low end sound but at the same time I don't want something too crazy for when I start my bike @ 5AM in the apartment complex--> thinking cannons so I can back my bike up to the edge of the woods and then start it and the sound doesn't echo off the buildings..

don't wait for other people, Just do it!

Don't worry about what type of pipe is "favored by us Triumph owners". One of the things that is big with Trumpet riders is our celebration of individuality. Get the sound you like and the looks you like. If they are too loud for your fellow apartment dwellers, encourage them to move. (just kidding, aren't I?)

It won't matter where you back up to start @5am everyone's going to know you're a SS pipes owner

The SS long cannons or slash cuts will sound the same. It's all a matter of which style you like. I love my SS pipes. My preference is the slash cuts. I think they look way better than stock pipes. The SS pipes sound great and have a really nice low end growl. They are definitely louder than Triumph TORs, but not as loud as many others out there.

true dat! But its not so bad ... really..its not bad.
I used to get really paranoid about mine but its no louder than any other brand of bike with aftermarket pipes.

I think the decision is yours and should be based on the look you are going for. I personally really like the long canons wit the billet tips...but I am partial to that look.

I love my long cannons on the speedmaster. I leave at 6am and my neighbors from four houses away say they hear me. I don't now if it is my bike or all set up as mine but when i pull the choke and start it, it never fails to start with a load crack. I have learned to just start it and drive away cold with a little throttle and continue on shifting al the way to third through one stop sign and two corners till i get to highway 1 at the edge of my neighborhood. There I turn off the choke and hit the highway. The pipes are load no doubt about it. They also resonate in my helmet but I still love them. No tickets after about 20 months - neighbors still talk to me on my exit rout and I get lots of complements on the look. I vote for the long cannons. I also wear ear plugs 75% of the time and they realy sound awsome through the earplugs cause they cancels out the cracking sound you get with the speedmaster engine. I do not know if you get that with the BA engine or not.

...I get a crak every once in a while too...Not necessarily the pipes causing it but its till a bit of a shock. My fav was one morning I pulled her out, cranked her and got nothing...I checked my choke, petcock, sloshed the fuel around...gave it another go and it sounded like someone set off a cannon.
Cant imagine what the neighbors thought was going on in their nice quiet neighborhood...

oh yea...I wouldnt get rid of em either...

I have long cannons on my bike and Wendy has slash cut. I like the look of my cannons but her slash cuts seem louder. Both started life as stock exhaust. Mine started life as stock 04 Speedmast tapered pipes that I cut the end off of then gutted. Wendys started life as stock 04 America pipes that I just gutted. So other than cannon vs slash cut our pipes are identical and hers are slightly louder.

Love my long cannons. I removed a little of the packing because I wanted a little more sound. The nice thing about these removable baffles is you can add or decrease volume with the packing.

Anybody know of anybody who's tried out the EPCOs that NewSpeedmaster carries? How do they rate?

I've got em. Not quite as large DIA as say bubs or sceptres, but I like em. SS material, nice sound, not TOO loud.

I saw them yesterday and they're very pretty as is the rest of John's very nice bike. We rode to the music of dueling SS cannons
