Not sure what I have for the airbox state of my 02 TBA.

I performed the AI removal the other night and what I found was different/unexpected. The rubber line to the carb fitting was already removed (aka missing) and the fitting had the rubber boot on it. All other rubber boots for a normal AI removal were in place. I pulled the AI rubber hose from the airbox and plugged the airbox.

I pulled the tubes on both jugs by the plugs and plugged them per kit instruction, everything looks like it should now.

I also noticed the air filter and no snorkel?
So what do I likely have for the filter / airbox?
What do I need to look for to make this determination?

Thanks

Not sure exactly what you are asking. You coul look for a hole in the bottom of the air box. Pull the cover off as if you were going to put a new filter in and look to see if there is a hole in the bottom of the filter,if not ,pull it out and look at the bottom of the box to see if a hole was cut.

If you'll undo the three 8mm bolts and remove the filter retainer ring you can pull out the filter and have a look. It's likely everything else is still stock but I'm not certain when they discontinued the internal secondary snorkels so you may or may not see those on each side of the filter. Once out you'll quickly know which you have; paper filter, UNI foam filter, K&N?

Sounds like the previous owner has already done or at least started the most common mods. Instead of completely removing the AI system, they simply disabled it, leaving it in place. You will have to drop the float bowls to see if they re-jetted, etc.

I saw a pic that showed a snorkel/cover between the seat and the air filter. All I have is a ring holding the filter in with three hex head bolts. The filter has 01.F.22 on the bottom with perforated metal cover around the outer edge of the pleated material. Not sure if it stock or K&N.. No holes etc

I can almost guarantee it was not jetted after any work was done. It does have the hi flow Triumph mufflers.

I'm comfortable with AI as I have it totally removed. I did not realize you could disable it by pulling the smaller line and capping the nipple on the carb flange...

Sounds like the stock paper filter, yellowish paper with a silver metal screen. As you've seen the snorkle is a rubber hose that snaps into the ring and restricts the airflow, pretty much everyone pulls that immediately. Doesn't require rejetting and neither do the Triumph mufflers; but, if you add a UNI filter or a K&N (both flow air much better) you'll likely be running a bit lean and will need to increase your fuel flow.
