My father has previously shipped his bike, and will be shipping it a second time along with mine. As long as its "crated" properly any mover shouldn't have any issues and your bike should remain undamaged.
His first move was done by a corporate relocation company so they covered all expenses but informed him that it doesn't matter who moves it but how well its prepared/crated. They used the local Harley dealership to crate his Kawasaki Vulcan.
This doesn't really answer your question but hope it helps.

I used JC Motors to ship a bike from Chicago to Virginia (door to door) several years ago. I understand Forward Air is cost effective, but you're responsible for crating and getting the bike to your home from the airport. With JC Motors I kept the pallet, straps, and cover (in the end I paid for them). If I remember correctly it cost me about $550 to ship the bike. Regards, Tom

I used Atlas to ship my America from Phoenix to Vigrinia last April. No complaints at all, they did a great job and you can track the progress online. Haven't shipped a bike with Forward Air but they've broken my companies equipment twice now so we no longer use them. I wouldn't trust them with my bike.
Remember; no matter where you go, there you are.

check out www.azride.com...they rent americas plus that other brand..may be going to the sw ride also from seattle..thinking of trailering my bike down but at 20 mpg it becomes expensive..150+gallons equals 450 bucks plus 2-3 days to get there and back2-3days ..perhaps rental and air fare becomes reasonable..still planning with options.
life is good..I am retired..sold my America in 2008,bought a Rocket and sold that in 3/2013 and now own a new Triumph Bonneville T-100

Atlas does much better with motorcycles than they do household goods. If I ever had reason to move again, they could haul the bikes but that's all.
