I have been seeing bikes that look as if they have no throttle, the grips on both sides look the same. i know some guys hide the wires in their bars, but can the throttle cables also be in the bars also, it seems it would cause a binding of the cable?

My '57 Panhead came with internal throttle ad spark advance cables. You can get the bits from antique cycle supply. The grip has an internal thread that engages a stud attached to an internal slide that sticks through a slot in the bar. Twisting the grip screws the slide in and out, pushing and pulling the control cable. http://www.antiquecyclesupply.com/

As long as you keep it lubricated, the system works quite well.

Hiding wires is one thing , but re - engineering the present throttle mechanism would take a team of MIT engineers and serious cash . Let it go , just twist the thing like it is .

I saw a bike like that a few days ago. Looks clean. The cables come out the botom of the top yoke.
It really is a clean look but its expensive. Heres a link I found... $$$$$$$$$

Found this when looking for braided brake lines and thought it wouldn't be too hard or expensive.

Mind you, I like the look of some nice braided lines

Who's that English custom builder now in the 'states, he has a Tv show where he challenges someone to build a bike and if it get his approval, they keep it? Anyway, he is renowned for that style of bike - no cables etc exposed.

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

The shop is Exile
The builder is owner of Exile Cycles, Russell Mitchell
Exile Cycles

I dont think the show is on the air anymore. Russell stopped doing it and the last few episodes kinda susked.

I thought it was pretty cool , he would let you build a bike and if you could do a burn out with it you got to keep it. I remember 1 guy did a kick only bike I didn't think he was gonna make it.

Once Russell was out Build or Bust just imploded. But never fear, I saw a preview for "Rock of Love 2" next week and he's going to be on there as the bimbos try and build a bike. Hopefully they'll mention whether or not Build or Bust will be back (there's nothing on the web site).

P.S. HEY! Maybe Exile will chime in here and let us know what's going on.

And that's less than a third the cost of those controls.
