having done a small amount of investigation, it's back to how it was when I first joined (bearing in mind I joined there and THEN found this place).

It never used to be a separate BA/SM forum. But the separate forum didn't really work either as most members over there are members here too.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

It was in modern cruisers, sub-forum "Vertical Twin Cruisers." Now it appears to have been rolled into the Twin Talk => Bonnie Owners Forum ...

"Bonnie Owners Forum (37 Viewing)
Discussions and Tech-Talk for Triumph Bonneville Models: Bonneville, T100, Thruxton, Scrambler, Speedmaster, and America"

http://www.triumphrat.net/bonnie-owners-forum/76384-changes-in-site-structure.html

Not that it matters. THIS is the defacto forum for Americas and Speedmasters.

Gotta admit I've never ventured over to that website(though ironically I had an invitation to do so from somebody around here recently ), but from what I hear,("Technical Twin Forum" you say, John?!..how exciting!!!) they certainly sound like a "fun" group of people over there alright!!!

(but I could just be jumping to false conclusions here, of course)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

They are asshats, but they can run their forum the way they want. Sometimes I go over there for the Rocket III forum. But r3owners.net is better. I'm just glad they're not the only source for info on our bikes.

Well, you see John! Maybe I SHOULD start visitin' them over there!!!

(ya know, there's nothing like sendin' a clown into the room to get some people to lighten up a little bit and stop being asshats about things...though THAT'S not a foolproof remedy by a long shot, of course)

I treid to get some info on a Legend I was working on. You would have thought I had asked for their first born when I told them I was a memeber here as well.

The America/Speedmaster forum languished over there, sometimes going for days without a posting. It is very interesting how they segregate themselves by model type and scorn anyone who might own a different Triumph (although, it doesn't have near the venom the Delphi folks spew).

Unfortunately, I found this site after that one. After being made a fool of, I was tentative to join another forum. Looking back, getting away from those pretentious a$$holes was a good move. Like Matt said, trying to get any info was like trying to pull teeth. If only we owned some of those "real Triumphs"...

and she's cute!

I think here it seems most people don't answer a question if they don't know the answer or if they try it's and educated guess and that person says it's a guess.

Yep Chris! That's what I've heard alright! And that's why I responded to that "kind offer" I received recently with..."Nope! No thanks! From what I hear those people over there are even worse than you are!"

(BTW...the recipient of my reply found little if any humor in THAT one TOO, dude....ahhh, what's a clown to do, HUH?!)

(and in his defense...he ain't THAT bad...and at least the people around here seem to know what they're talkin' about...well, mostly anyway)

To me it is "Bike lite" over there. I can't quite remember who brought me over here from there but it was the best internet move I have made. I love this place but you guys are getting me into so much trouble. And you all know what I mean.

Well gosh, Lon! What's wrong with THAT?

There ARE some people around still lookin' for a "Lifestyle" ya know!!!

(as compared to ME who evidently just needs to get a LIFE!!!...I mean, how long have I been sittin' at this darn keyboard today ANYWAY???!!!

(I at least have an excuse for TODAY however...it's been raining cats and friggin' dogs here in "sunny SoCal" all friggin' DAY!!!)

I found this site first. Its what actually tipped the scales towards my purchase of my America. I found the people here friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable about this particular kind of bike. I discovered the rat site after I got my bike and had already begun posting here. I never even bother to check the rat site, though it has nothing to do with the people who post. This site just caters to my interests and my bike. Finding info on the America or Speedmasters over there just seems really cumbersome. Here its easy.

Same here, however, I picked the bike first THEN I picked the forum. By the sound of it I made the right choice on both counts

Can't ya just FEEL the LOVE ? Vroom . Vroom . Vroom .

This Forum has helped me with my Helmholtz fixation . I think .

Looked at other forums and this one is just FAR superior , warm and fuzzy , SO user - friendly with a nice , clean layout and a smooth finish .

Unlike Dwight's side ot the USA , it's not raining frikkin dogs , it's sunny and 70-ish , and here I sit . 'nuff said .

I'm gonna go for a ride .
