hello all, unfortunately i may have to sell my 2002 America due to unseen family issues. (long story). But anyway i was wondering what you guys thought would be a fair asking price for it. it has 4500 miles on it and looks spotless. I have had the AI removed, aftermarket pipes, rejetted, and a speedmaster seat on it. I still have the factory seat also. Thanks for your help in advance. Jack

I would not pay over 3000.00 for it, but I am a cheap bastid.

I was thinking a little higher but it's hard to price something without seeing it. Mileage is low thats in your favor and a good selling point.

Kelly Blue Book lists the retail value as $4885 and the trade in value as $3365. I would set the price somewhere in between those figures. Depending on where you live it may be hard to sell a bike in January. I just got a smoking deal on a 2007 Tiger with 1200 miles because not many people are buying bikes this time of year in Pennsylvania.

I traded my '02 in Oct last year and got $3300. I though it was low but I got a New Tiger for $9000 which was a great deal plus 15% off accessories including install(and those heated grips took the tech 1 1/2 hours). You could probably get $4000+ in a private sale as the dealer got $4500 for my TBA.All he did was put a new front tire on. Good Luck.

I payed 4 grand for my 02 last year, with just a few more miles than that. It really matters what part of the country you're in, also. Sorry you have to sell. We never like to hear that. Good luck!

Before you go thinking i am trying to low ball you, let me enlighten you a little. I buy and sell used bikes. I make cash offers based on the wholesale value of the bike.
Now having said that, I would put the bike up for 4500.00. It would sell in 2 to 3 weeks so long as its clean, runs good, and is in sounds operating condition.. Also take and thing off you put on it, like saddle bags, a wind screen and so on, "throw" them in later as a sales tool.

There is a $4000 and $4195 asking prices on cycle trader right now. The key is they are still for sale. What sold last year doesn't count anymore. The economy sucks, credit card bills are high and the 08s are out making it a year older.
Now that the 08s have a different look the bike is more dated. I think you will get between $3,000 and $3800 if you price it just above 4k. Price it higher than that and your phone will probably not ring as much.
Then again I have no idea where you live. Market may be different for you. Put it in the classified here.
NADA IMHO is much more realistic. Here it is
Base Price $2,800 $3,680 Options Exhaust-High Performance (Street) $205 $233 TOTAL PRICE $3,005 $3,913
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.
