Normally I dont use Turbotax or the other one cause they are too expensive and typically not easy to use. This year a freind told me that TT could auto populate from my companys Epayroll site. I was please to find that they could also autopopulate from my investment company. Overall I was very happy with TT this year and it was easy to use. I itemize and that was a breeze. Best of all...my return amount was better than it was last year and that makes me a happy man!
I reccomend Turbotax this year!

You could probably pay for it with what the tax shops charge, and they likely use the same thing.

I used TurboTax for years until I started my own business. Then I got an accountant.

Been using TT for years.
Always found it to be easy and accurate.

I use it as well. I share it with friends and everyone pays a portion of the purchase fee. Very easy to do.

I just do it with the online Turbotax website, and so far, every year has been pretty decent. I'm sure with a trained accountant, I might get more, but I'm happy with what I get...

Just a quick question here Greg before we get back to this....

If ya ain't got the lastest greatest high-speed internet connection, would ya get any turbo-lag doin' it this way?

(hey now...you HAVE to know by NOW I'd say somethin' dumb like THAT in this thing, RIGHT people???!!!)

Okay. Sorry. I used to use Turbotax, but found an accountant that works a little better for us.

(yeah...that's because I have sooooooooo much money that I can't keep track of it all...yeah sure...that's it alright)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

OK, accountant joke time:

A company was looking to fill a position and had narrowed the field down to a mathematician, a philosopher and an accountant.

For the final test they called them in for a one question interview.

First was the mathematician.
They asked him "how much is two plus two?".
The mathematician took out a pencil and paper and through a series of equations convinced them that two plus two is, always has been, and always will be four.

Next was the philosopher.
They asked him the same question, "how much is two plus two?"
The philosopher sat down and began talking. Through a series of arguments, examples and suppositions he was able to convince them that not only was two plus two not four, but was in all likelihood five.

Finally, they called in the accountant.
They asked him the same question, "how much is two plus two?"
The accountant got up, closed the curtains, locked the door and turned off all the lights save one directly above the desk.
He then rolled up his sleeves, got out a pad and paper, leaned forward and in a low voice asked,

"what would you like it to be"?

Ha, good one. I used tt for the last 6 or 7 years and now the kids are gone and out of college the tax man is r*ping me. So I was considering an accountant this year.

Legitimate costs associated with tax preparation - including tax preparation software - are deductable expenses. Tax Cut is an H&R Block program which I'll be using this year for federal and state returns, and it has no additional charge access to a living, breathing H&R Block preparer if needed for advice.

Comp USA is going out of business and has this software on sale for 25% off.

I've used turbotax the last couple years, no complaints at all, and am planning to use it again this year.

Have used H&R's Tax Cut, but, for the last 4 years Turbo Tax online. Both worked well and are straight forward. Like someone said earlier, since the kids are not claimed anymore the refund has dwindled considerably. The house is much quieter though.
