Looking for a spray can of Cardinal Red.
Anyone have one or know of a place that sells it.

I want to paint the side cover and I'm making a battery box cover that will be painted as well (unless someone is already making unfinished BB covers).

Thanks

not sure what kinds of paint what stores sell but most good paint places can match your paint if you provide an example. Here Preferred Paint Products does it and will mix auto motive paint for you to match what you have. They also carry containers that are basicly a reusable spray can. Glass bottle that you put the paint in and pressurize then spray like a can. I don't know if they have stores by you but a supply shop like that should be able to help.

I stopped by the local painters supply house and they can match it or the can likely get it from the supplier (I found the US trumpet paint supplier and spoke with them).

The local supply place can also put it spray cans. Total cost would be in the $40 plus cost of paint range... I'd end up with extra cans of Cardinal red that I would not really really need...

To match requires taking off a fender or the tank... Nothing else is red on the bike.

To paint it black would mean that it's just like every other one of the 8 jillion black bikes out there... Black is pita to keep clean as well.. I am painting the rear peg hangers and the sprocket cover black... already started that...

Plus it looks pretty close in color to my Kingpin...
I have a full quart of the Victory Solar red...
Maybe I'll just shoot the tank, fenders, BB cover, side cover and chain guard solar red... That would be sweet...

Would anyone be interested in buying a can of Cardinal Red?
Probably be $15-$20/can end price... if the interest is there I'd do that and share the effort...

Red, as a color of paint, is extra expensive because of the high grade testesterone which is included in every can. It takes a REAL man to spray and enjoy it, and lady riders prefer it for the obvious reasons!

Gary -
I'm surprised you can find our exact paint - Cardinal Red - according to Triumph's website its a british brand of paint, and my paint store couldn't locate it. We did however do a match - I can find my paint info if you want it....its not exact, but as the tank which I painted is not right next to the fenders you can't tell. And red is expensive, I think it was like $200+ for a quart. As I recall, several others tried to find it and the most they could get from Triumph was a tube of touchup.
Good luck.

I know it's not in your neck of the woods. but this might help UK members.
Nuneaton Replacement Panels

Got my Cardinal Red from there, they have all the Triumph codes. Perfect match as well, 400ml cans £9.80 ($19?) and touch up pots as £5 ($10?). One thing they recommend is to put the clear laquer on within 20 minutes of putting the last coat of basecoat on, basicaly before it has time to go to hard.
