Greetings, I have a 2007 America, and I see on New speedmaster that they have a set of handlebars that are the same as the speedmaster bars which I want on my america. However they say that you will need different risers for the speedmaster bar to fit on the america. My question is... Does anyone know of or could suggest a set of bars similar to the speedmaster bars that have the risers integrated that will fit our bikes? A one piece set up. Seems like everything out there is either for HD, or the asian bikes. I would rather not have to fab something myself in this case ala OCC.

HD bars have the same riser spacing, 3.5" so any t-bars made for Harleys should work. You can either drill out the mounting holes to fit the larger bolts, or find a set of stepped bolts. I think J&P Cycles has some. There's a thread around here somewhere about it.

My America came to me with a set of Carlini handlebars similar to these. You do have to drill out the mounting holes to 1/2" to mount these or, as FJ said, procure adapter bolts to keep the mounting holes original.

Looks like these might work. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...996444&rd=1They are 4" rise, 8" pull back, and 32" wide. I sent a note to the seller about mounting situation and if they offer a slightly narrower set up at 30" I like that they are dimpled and drilled to allow internal wiring. When I hear back from the guy, I might just buy, and I will let you all know how they fit.

they should work. i'd stick with the 32", that way you won't have a tone of left over cable. just remember you're gonna have to drill a hole for your switch box pins so they don't spin around.

newspeedmaster.com has drag bars and risers for your bike. The risers seem high priced the the bars are cheap. However, you'll be able to see in your rear veiw mirrors better with the wider bars. Thats normaly not a major problem except when you are in a lot of close traffic.
Its more fun to be ridin'! I'm still ridin

Yes I like the price of New Speedmaster's bars, but I also like the look of T bars. The ones on ebay are the ones I think I will buy.

Just recently added these bars and risers to my America. Parts sourced from custom chrome. I needed to drill the holes out, but otherwise it was pretty easy. Feels like a new bike and love the riding position of the new bars.

Holy Cow reef rider, they look narrow as heck, I put 36" bars on mine with some slightly pulled back risers... how does it ride being so narrow?

Yep, still need to get some bar ends. Trojan, it rides awesome. Sooo different than with the America bars. They don't feel as narrow as they look, and gives me so much more confidence throwing it into the twisties. I battled mainly at highway speeds with the Std America bars. Slowly in and around town they were comfortable but I found anything 120km/h plus and the drag on my arms was killing me. Now my arms are much straighter and I feel a lot more in control. Hasn't lost any handeling at low speeds either, and splitting lanes is a pleasure

Don't have to drill the top triple tree there are adapters out there.I made some myself on my lathe but they are available to buy. I'm about to look again for another member and will post the link when I find them again.
I don't have time to sit here and look right now, I did a quick look and didn't find them right away but I know they are out there. I'll take a better look later when I have the time.

Tell me what to look for. I am not sure what exaclty the adaptors should be. I see on Ebay there are adaptors for HD, but not sure if this is what I am looking for.

Yes sir, I was the member Ian was talking about. You need 1/2" threads on the short end and 10mm threads on the other. Both coarse threads as well. I found some here for little cheaper. You can always buy the risers first and then figure out the proper threads. Hope this helps. Props to Ian taking time outta his busy day today to help us out.
