Well, I just turned over the first five hundred miles,on a shakedown run after a rejet. So,tomorrow I will be calling Amsoils and ordering my regular running oil. To backup a little,I changed the oil and filter after my first fifty miles. I ran Valoline motorcycle oil during the breakin period.Stuff was rated pretty good for a non-synthetic oil. My dealer really wants me to run synthetic, and I could not choke down fifty dollars a gallon for the Mobil 1,so I settled on Amsoil.Good test results, fairly priced and readily available. It will be interesting to see if the bike performs any differently with the Synthetic. It is going to be an adventure! Anybody notice a difference when running synthetic? Al

Al, Please, please, I'm beggin' here, don't open up the "oil" discussion again!!! ( ) I use Amsoil and I like it. I noticed a slight difference after the break-in period - the engine was a bit quieter, shifts were a bit smoother. Things get progressively better the more miles you put on. You will actually feel the bike get stronger and run better. I'm not chalking this up to Amsoil, it's just the nature of the bike as it breaks in....

Grump, yea,I have noticed the bike wanting to roll up on the speed as it gets loosened up.Since I changed pipes and jets,it really is hard to keep the speed down.I kind of figure to still keep the revs under a little control for the first thousand miles, but it is getting hard to control my right hand.Bikes sounds so good as it raps up.What fun! I really did/do not want to discuss oil brands, just the feel of the engine after switching to Synthetic's. Al

But is that the 15-50w synthetic or 20-50w standard mazola?
