Not for me but different and different is always cool.Did you use stainless bolts so they don't rust?

yea, they're stainless, abd the paint is the ceramic hi-temp. I didn't bake em like the directions said so I guess time will be the test of how they hold up. Dog, are you ever not logged on here? I can post at 3am or 3pm and you always respond within 10 minutes.

My neighbors hate my open-header 74' corvette more... The bike is a gentle relaxing breeze compared to that. ha!

Well now, that'll get your attention! Always like a new approach even if it's not for me.

Would that '74 be optioned with the hide-a-way wipers, pop-out rear glass, and a 4 speed? Mine was blue and had the 396 (not original). Also have owned a 78 silver anniversary, 78 pace car, and 82 and the (just former) 03 50th anniversary convertible. I love those plastic coffins. Too bad they have gotten so high priced...

They just sold a 78 Pace Car on Tuesday at the Barret Jackson auction. I can't remember what it went for, but it was a pretty slick ride.

CAre to give us detailed instructions on how to make them, Nick? I like the colours and shape, although I'd have to make the pipe an equal or larger diameter than the headers.

It sounds like you've seen my car in person, its just as you imagined however, mine is yellow with a 350SB (heavily modified) with hooker header side pipes and a 125hp shot of giggle gas.

The pipes are very simple echo- i started with an 18" length of 1.75" ID/OD pipe from O'reilly's (about 6 bucks). then I ordered a set of JP cycles 4" beer can baffles with an OD of 1.75" The bolts and wingnuts are stainless and brass with stainless lockwashers holding them tight.

The baffle was slightly smaller than the pipe so I took it the pipe to a muffler shop and they used a tool that looks like a metal ice cream cone and turned it over the end of the pipe upside down and beat it with a hammer. It slowly tapered the end of the pipe so that I could slide the baffle in from the other side as a perfect fit.

the forward end of the pipe was a snug fit over the header but needed to be clamped, so I cut two .75" long, 1/8" wide slots 180 degrees apart from each other. Now a clamp holds it nice and tight.

The pipe was sanded down to remove the zinc coating and painted with black hi-temp ceramic paint. I painted the baffle's red with the same type of paint but the exhaust gas & heat made quick work to remove that within a weak. They still look ok bare metal in there and luckily I didnt remove the zinc coating on that so hopefully it wont rust.

Pictures are worth a thousand words and I am making another set shortly, which I can photograph along the way if you'd all like.

I'm glad you all like them.
