Has anyone tried or installed the FCR 39's on our bikes yet? They look pretty tempting and I have been wanting to try some new carbs but just not sure which ones I want. Right now I am leaning towards the FCR's from Bella Corse. I have an FCR on my KTM and it seems pretty decent with no problems or issues. Any comments??????

i have heard a little about these. a guy with a thrux over on the rat site has them and really likes them. but he had additional motor work. i also heard they can be a tad tricky to dial in. i have mikuni 42's on my bike, i feel they are to big for a stock motor to take advantage of them. althought my bike runs better with them i did not gain anything on a dyno. but that will all change this year. so in short if you plan on future mods then go for them, if not it may not be worth the expense unless you have the money and its not a big deal to you financially

Thats quite the contradictrion there...it runs better but the dyno #'s are the same. I cant imagine not gaining anything on a dyno by adding 42mm carbs...something is wrong with this picture.

i put out 62 with my stock carbs and 62 with the 42's, i think the power band may have been made larger but no more peak power

do some searching on them Ron. From what I have read anyway it seems they are very prone to flooding at a stop. They are made more for higher RPM use such as racing and such. I have never used them myself but this is a very big topic for discussion on a lot of other forums. They are the carb of choice for the triples that race pro.
Edit: So, I looked at Mark's site and they do indeed look very interesting, and at a very good price. Go with the standard race package and save the $100 if you go with them. They certainly sound like a very good deal. But call Mark and let him know you have the 904 as well so the jetting will be closer. Oh, and you will need air filters, do not run them with just the velocity stacks, pods at the minimum.

A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I gained 8rwhp from installing 42mm carbs on my 904....and theres a guy on rat.net that put them on a stock 790...who also gained.
I'll say it again...I cannot imagine installing 42mm mik's and not gaining anything. Something is wrong with this scenario.

I am running a 904 BB and I definitely gained with the BB but I want more. I just don't know which setup to go with, I know Dinqua and Biker are running the Mikuni's with good results but I am thinking about trying something different and leaning towards the FCR's. I also would like to see someone come up with a good set of cams but it sounds like it is hard to improve on the original equipment. I am still doing some research and need to make a decision soon.

OK, just got off the phone with Mark from Bella Corse and he has one set of FCR 39's left on the shelf but he will be receiving more in about a month or so. He will also be receiving the same setup but with FCR 35's that he is saying might match up better with our bikes. He told me that if I can wait for the 35's it might pay to do so. He also stated that he already has some FCR 35's sold and will be shipping as soon as they come in and he would be able to give feedback when I am ready to make my purchase. It sounds like I am going to go with this setup whether it be the 35's or the 39's. I like the fact that these carbs mount and use the exact same linkage setup so it is almost a direct bolt on. I will keep you posted.

Try the S&S SUPER G'S SHORTY. It's a new carb but has the adjustability for our motors, but you will have to machine the intakes......ANGELIS

I have two 38mm carbs from Edelbrock. You still have to do mods to mount the air cleaner......ANGELIS
