Ok so about 10 years ago I was in a nasty motorcycle accident causeing me to have a traumatic brain injury.. Pretty much i was in the ICU for over a month in a drug induced coma cause thye had ot cut the crushed part of me skull out so my brain could swell.. Well after much time in the hospital, I recoverd, but I live with having damage to my brain. It only effects me in my mood. As in I dont beat around the bush with people, and I have a very very very short temper.. Well this is under control with the use of medicine (zoloft) and I took anger managment classes( boy that ****** me off lol).. Went to the Dr Tues and he took me off the Zoloft and started me on a new medicine cause i told him I am gettign really upset at things pretty easy.. I dont know what is going on but my head feels like there is someone hammering in my head with a 10 pound sledge, my muscles ache, and my teeth a hurting. I took today off work, and I just called out for tomorrow. I was taking a nap eariler and jess said I was balled up in the couch and every muscle she touched was flexed. I woke up wore out,sweating, and feeling more tired then when i fell asleep.. Man I hate this, and it needs to stop.. Ok had ot vent sorry

actualy its little things. Like trying to start a bolt and it wont go will really get me mad, just small things.

Well how about this. I was driving my tractor down a path through the woods this afternoon. The front tire some how caught a branch and kicked it up. It was about three inches in diameter and ten feet or so long. The sob hit me square in the nose. Nearly knocked me off the tractor. I stopped. Not just because it hurt. But because I couldn't see. It was about 20 degrees F out so that didn't help either. Sat there for a few minutes contemplating my place in the universe with my hand cupped over my face. Finally got the courage to take my hand down and sure enough, blood. Well really wasn't all that bad. Just a skinned up nose and probably black eyes tommorrow. Talk about feeling like your heads gonna explode...I feel for ya brother....

Sounds like it hurt. I hate getting hit in the nose. I took a punch to the nose a long time ago from a patient jacked up on PCP.. I had to walk away or someone was gonna get the wrong end of a mag light

Well Matt, I for one will refuse to frequent ANY website that references RODENTS!!!
(that is of course unless it would lead me to the possibility of viewing CAT WOMEN in tight leather outfits who's responsibility it would be to rid said rodents from the premises...now THAT'S something I might investigate!!!)

Having had my fair share of medication for the brain all I can say is that you have my sympathy.
It takes about 3-4 weeks of going onto a new medication before it starts to work efficently. The symptoms you describe sound like the weening off from the zoloft.
If you are no better in a few days you must go back to the doctors and get a referal to a specailist who will put you on a more suitable medication that will take away these symptoms before they reach a point of explosion.
I know that my specialist put me onto a medication called seroquel that was very effective for me for similar symptoms but who knows it it would be for you?
I dont know if you are married but boy I was plain nasty to my family till it was brought under control.
So live in hope and badger the doctors until something gets done that works for you

Oh yeah I am married to the beat woman inthe world, she understand whats is going on, and is not taking it personal. I offerd to go stay in a hotel but she is keeping me in check. Them frying pan to the temple will straighted you out real fast lol.. Sad part is her and I were friends whern the accident happend, she said I was cute back then but to "nice" now she loves me to death cause i tell it like it is lol.. must be the cop in her i guess lol..
Also I am not mean toward my son.. No matter how mad I am, I just look at him and it all goes away. if you would have told me 19 months ago that my world would be centerd around one person i would have laughed. Now everything i do I stop and think aobut him and if it would set a good examlpe for him.

Just mentioned this to my daughter (pharmacist) who said "What!" She said that most doctors take people down slowly by reducing by 1/2s for a few months. Dizzy, sweats, cramping, anxiety, anger are all side effects. She mentioned something about your doctor. Wasn't very nice. Also mentioned that Paxil or Wellbutrin are something, something then my eyes clazed over when she lost me so I just started saying hmmm ok, uhhuh, gotcha.  Good luck

Lol paxil, wellbutrin,Zoloft, and many others are SSRI's. I know most bring you down off them slowly, but Dr felt it was not working, so she put me on the Paxil and told me to stop the Zoloft. I am going to call her in the morning and let her know whats going on.

Ok here is the story.
Was heading to K Mart or something, I forget where. Matter of fact everyhting i am telling was told to me by the people who saw the accident, cause i do not remember that day or the next few weeks.
Ok so I was on I26 heading East. I got off on Hwy78 going east also lol.. Anyhow, the lane is a solid lane form the interstate off ramp all the way to the Hospital turn. So pretty much you get off the interstate and have your own lane. I got onto Hwy 78 when a lady did not see me and pulled into my lane. She was going much slower since she was going to the hospital. So i guned the gas to get ahead of her befor she pinched me into the guard rail. She hit my back tire causing me to turn sideways. I came off the bike hit her hood then onto her roof and off to the road. From what i am told I was aobut 6 to 7 feet in the air and hit the pavement like a lawn dart, head first. My helmet was crushed into the skull, broken bones were, skull, jaw, 4 ribs, left leg, left arm, and 3 bones in mt left hand. I dislocated my right shoulder, and tore a ligament in my left leg.
Even tho I was less then 100 yards from a hospital, I was flown to the trauma center. I am told I was trying to talk after it happend, and tried to take my helmet off. I was lucky that it was 4pm and there was a overflow of off duty nurses leaving the hospital.
Once in the trauma center I was given a ct scan and rushed to surgery wherre they cut bone out of my head allowing my brain to swell. It was touch and go for a while. My mom said the dr told her I had a 1% chance of making it. Guess I sohuld have played the lottery that day huh. I still have the Jacket I had on, as well as the boots. The helmet is used at the local tech college for the MSF courses. I soent a total of 6 months in the hospital, and a year in rehab.

Ya know Matt, I gotta hand it to ya, dude. That was one hellacious crash, but you're back to work, you're back on two-wheels(which takes a heck of a lot of guts) and...and...YOU'VE GOT ONE COOL FREE FRIGGIN' TV SET to boot!!! Cheers dude! And here's to you and that job of yours helping people who unfortunately have just experienced something similar to what you did!

Seriously, I had a co-worker who left my office to work with head injury patients 12-14 years ago. From her I understood that oftentimes behavioural changes occur. From what I pick up from your skill and ability regarding your day job and motorpsycho business, you are light years ahead of mere mortals like myself. 
Or look at it this way, I was born quarter parts Norwegian/German and 1/2 Dane, all cultures that consider stubborness and being quietly recalcitrant as virtues. Talk about being born behind a genetic 8 ball. For me, buying spicey hot V8 juice over the standard issue malt O meal version is living on the edge.

Thanks for the kind words.. The way I see if God had a diffrent plan for me that day. Maybe it ws to use up some drugs in the hospital befor they expired, or maybe it was to use myself as a example for ssaftey equipment. Either way I am happy I am here.
As for my job, to be honest i am not good at many things. I barley passed english classes in school, I never had a intrest in sports, pretty much math is where I did well. Since medicine is a lot of math, and well mechanical work is pretty much all math, why not make a iving doing it..
But I am completly happy wiht my life, I have been truely bless with everything I have. When i started working on bikes it was more for myself then others, but for some reason I am good at it.. Now I need to get me a TIG welder to go with the frame jig I am picking up tomorrow.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? Most meds today have really serious side effects. I guess the days when medicine is good for you are pretty much gone.
