has anyone here removed their headers and had them painted/powdercoated? Anyone with pictures? And unless I'm an idiot, do you have to remove the engine to pull the ba§tards off?

The previous owner TBANGA did the removal and ceramic coating on mine, I would think it should be a pretty straight forward unbolting procedure starting at the crossover tube once the silencers are off.

You will be lucky to get hi-temp paint to last a year. Powdercoat lasts a lot longer, but it tends to fade rather badly. Ceramic coating will save you money in the long run.

I've had 'em off, but never painted 'em.
Remove clamps and hanger bolts and remove silencers (mufflers).
Loosen clamp on crossover pipe and remove mounting hardware at rear near outlets.
Remove 2 nuts from header studs and wiggle judiciously. Not you, the headers.....
They come right off.

Replace gaskets on reinstall - install everything loosely - and start tightening from front to back.
