Here is the deal, I want a brand new bike. jessica has agreed to let me have one, but not untill later in the year, like around Nov or Dec.. So I am putting triumph on notice..
Put out the 1500BA or I will be forced to get a V-Rod..
Think that will work?
Oh and I do not like the look of the R3 so dont try to influence me lol
Dont like what you see??? Big red X in the top right of your screen will fix it!

V-rod doesn't leak oil or water. Electrics suck though. Fast bike for a fake Harley Depends on what you like. Look at Victory maybe

I didn't care much for the ergos on the V-Rod and was disappointed at how small the Sportsters felt.
By the way, after seeing it in person the Yammie Raider is the only bike in the world uglier than an R3. Yuck!

Check out the Street Rod. Steeper rake, inverted fork, mid-mount pegs, so of course all the H****y riders hate it!

Now if HD would put the V-Rod motor, in a crusier frame. It would be on my short list, along with the 1500 BA.

Truth be told, I sat on all the HDs and didn't care much for any of them. I really got used to the ergos on the Speedmaster and later the Victory. Why ride an ugly or uncomfortable bike when there are so many other choices out there?

My Deluxe was a very comfortable bike probably the smoothest I ever rode. Before that I thought all HDs rode rough but riding one changed that.

Yep T-Man! And from what I understand, the wiring harness was promptly out-sourced from Lucas Electronics Ltd., Birmingham, England!
(hence the V-Rod's Achilles' heal, of course)

If you spend $20,000 on a Vegas, you're getting beat by 3 or 4 thousand dollars! There was a guy that did an iron butt on the Vegas. Not bad for an "around town" bike. You can definitley set the Vegas up for touring, but why do that when you can get a Kingpin, or Vision?

Yeah, but Kevin...Matt said he was interested in a V-Rod if the Triumph "mystery machine" cruiser fails to materialize. The V-Rod is pretty much an "around town" bike(though like you mention, any of these can be made to tour), and so I was figuring maybe my favorite Victory model might make his list...the Hammer!!!
Now THAT's one of the best looking bikes out there, at least in my view!
(too bad about that 250 tire on the back of it however...now there's a waste of possibly making this beauty handle better in the turns)

That Hammer is not that bad Dwight. That big tire is made for a motorcycle so the side wall is contoured. You don't have to apply a lot of pressure to stop the self-righting action. The Vegas still handles better though.

The guys that ride Hammers & Jackpots insist they handle ok after a short bit of practice. R3 guys often say the same thing about the 240 on that hog.
But if you want a very nimble bike, go for the Vegas. If you want the best-handling Victory, go for the Kingpin. They crank through turns at speed, but even at slow speeds they're both very stable.

Matthew, I don't particularly like the R3 looks either, but the Touring model intrigues me. I have ridden a few VRods and that is one of the best motors ever put in a bike. BUT! the front end stinks. The rake is even more than our bikes and very close to "chopper flop". Seems unstable in turns, and will tighten up you pucker string. If you get one, ride safe, and stay on straight roads.
Ride Safe,
Dennis

I think Vrods are very nice but just look goofy and those riding them look goofy.

Somehow, when I see the Vrod, I think of a song from some musical titled 'Dance 10, looks 5'. The blacked out version is a little better looking, but they really need to do something about the shape of the airbox cover to make it look a little more like a proper tank and make it fit like it belongs on the bike, and get rid of that 'dead carp eye' looking headlight.
