Well, from July to December, I pretty much changed everything on this project but the motor, front wheel and forks. Found a new front frame section with all the factory tabs, so it was a shame not to use a Triumph tank. Sold the Mustang and found this Tiger tank. The Invader wheel was screwed up as was the hardtail section it was forced onto. We put on a shorter hardtail section (which I really like) and a stock Triumph rear wheel. The motor is done, we just have to start buttoning things up. I'd planned to ride it on NY's Day, but with my broken foot, that will have to wait. Here's what it looked like in July '06 And now in Dec. 07:

Can't wait to see it finished! the lowered tank does look good, It'll fill up some of that empty space.

Yeah, once we found the OEM front frame section, my buddy said I had to get a Triumph tank. That was a real find, has mount points for the tank grid and rubber knee pads. Guy sold it to me for $90 shipped. Sold the old Mustang tank it came with for $50, so my lowly budget stays intact. With that tank, I can put the coils under the tank, also getting them out of sight.

My buddy called last night, he is getting antsy to finish this and put on the front end/rear fender/risers/bars. I'm hoping to get back over next weekend and see what she looks like. I'll take some better light pix than. I can now put a shoe on my broken foot, who knows....

Thanks. It was in the 40's but windy today. I heard a bunch of my buddies ride thru the 'hood for our annual NY Day ride, first one I've missed in a while.

That is going to be a nice bike Jones! Keep us updated on the build! I am also gathering stuff for a bobber build but having a hard time finding a frame & title for my kind of money. Old triumphs are overpriced as H*** over here in Sweden. Johann

My neighbor just ran into a guy who bought three bikes from an old lady's garage for $300. He's supposed to call me for parts sources. I think they're getting more scarce everywhere. Quote:
