Okay..fine then... we'll go ahead and get this started. Well it's that time again, days are getting longer turning our thoughts toward springtime and twistie stretches of road. I don't have it all planned out yet but I'll give ya what I got so far. This years rally week is April 28th thru May 4th, the main gathering being on may 2nd and 3rd but all early arrivals are welcome. Why arrive early you ask? Lot's o' primo roads to explore in this neck of the woods and cool things to do and see as anyone who has ever been here can attest.(is that a word?) Anyway.. heres the plan as it stands. Wednesday April 30th: This is the day people usually start rolling in. The sounds of Trumps echoing through the valleys is music to my ears so we'll be hanging in the pole barn listening for those sweet sounds and greeting the travelers as they arrive. We'll have a couple of small local rides through the day for those who are interested, if not you're welcome to hang at home base or see some of the local sites. Of course you should feel free to explore on your own as well as again, there is much to do and see around here. We'll probably have dinner in town that evening at our fav Mexican place that evening followed by a moonlite ride.. weather permitting. Thursday May 1st: Put your riding gear on and get ready for some serious wind. As some of you may have read, we made a trip last fall to Chicamauga Battlefield and Lookout Mountain. After deciding there is not enough time in one day to do it all, I've decided to limit our outing to a day trip to Lookout Mountain . This will include a visit to Ruby Falls and Rock City. Two places I've been to but have never taken the time to take the tour to see what all the hubbub is about. The entrance fee is 15.00 per person for each stopover but a well spent 30.00 in my opinion. Those of you have no interest in the natural wonders should be sure tag along with us anyway as the Tennessee River Valley is something to see and the ride to and from is all part of the experience. And as always... Thursday night is call in pizza night. Friday and Saturday are still in the works.. hey.. it's still December.. jeeeeez.. but I will get it posted as soon as I work out all the details. Trust me when I say it will probably involve mountains, lots of twisties and cool stuff to look at... the only boring road around here is 400.. which I plan to avoid altogether if at all possible. Just let me know if you plan on attending so I can get you on my list. My contact # is 706-344-2942 and e-mail of course is chy@chysrides.com. Looking forward to seeing all of you veterans again and the newbies as well. Questions, comments and ideas are welcome... Check out this link for area and lodging information.. Till then.. Chy

I'm in. I love the roads around Chy's neighborhood and who can say no to Lookout Mountain? This event just became the first notations in my 2008 Triumph calendar!

Speaking of reservations, we discussed moving to the motel on the hill behind Mcdonalds. The "late night get togethers was not to Raj's liking. I suppose we could terrorize some other folks. I believe it's the Super 8? Can anyone confirm this? Mike

i don't know who flubbed that dub {t-max is a good susspect???], any whack-o knows better than to do something foolish like that. i really don't drink but 2-4 beers,,, but if i'm tired and want to relax and drink a few,, it's a hassle to track down the local bot-legger. as any southerner knows SOMEBODY gonna sell a little booze, and brew. i should know i come from a long line of moonshiners and horse thieves!!!!

Hi Myke, yes back towards town on 19 before the intersection of 52, I believe. On the left behind Mcdonalds. looked to be a little safer entrance. Just a suggestion, I'll stay where everyone wants to. Mike

The Super 8 is right behind McDonalds.. good parking.. all out in front. They share an entrance with the hospital and a string of doctors offices so that intersection stays pretty busy. It's a little tricky turning left towards town since it's right in a curve, I've seen a few fender benders there but that was people doing stupid things... but people do stupid things in cars. Hey! It ain't very big, maybe y'all could just rent the whole thing out and then theres nobody to complain.. Man! I need to build a bunkhouse...
