It was released on the 7th of December and still holds the number 12 spot for top box office sales. With a cumulative sales of over 58 million dollars in just 4 weekends in the U.S. and over 150 million worldwide, it's no Harry Potter or Chronicles of Narnia for that matter but it's really not bad at all.
And as for the theme, if you're aware of the theme going into it the theme is pretty obvious but it was written in a manner that you could accept the movie as just a story making it fine for all children regardless of religious standpoint. If you look at the user reviews on Yahoo movies there are lots of christians who have seen the movie and written great reviews in support of the movie.

One of my older Triumph friends...reccomened the movie "Tomboy". About a girl who works as a car mechinac and rides a Triumph. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090184/But I'm having trouble finding it on DVD. So far two vendors have taken my order, but later cancled it and return my money....I can get it from Netflix, but don't want to rejoin, problems with the returns getting lost in the USPS mail for weeks.

I thought Superbad was okay for immature humor. I was disappointed that it didn't make me laugh out loud like I thought it would. Nothing's too immature for me. I actually liked Kung Pow and Freddy Got Fingered. I just watched Hostel for the first time. Now that I didn't like. Too brutal for me.
Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.

No, Dwight, but when i got off the band road around '83 i went deep into movies (well, deeper anyway). Bought all kinds of books about them, subscribed to fanzines, made some friends at a couple video stores, traded vhs tapes, caught everything we could that we liked off cable and other sources, and shared them, etc.
I still watch whatever finally makes it to my satellite dish. I finally stopped buying movies unless i really, really like it, and buy them used if i can. My DVD vs VHS collection is well weighted toward the antiquated vhs side, with a few Beta in there as well. I've transferred a few to DVD-R. But, i don't keep up with it all like i used to.
Plenty more i'd like to see though!

Heh heh! A lot of those movies i saw and/or recorded/bought, were in the pre-web days! But, i still watch some of them when i get the urge. I have a list of all i have but only got around 60% into it before i quit (that was a few years ago).
I don't have all those movies on the list i posted here, those are just some that i've seen that stuck with me...but, i probably do have around 75-80% of them either duped or factory vhs. a few on the list i own the dvd. I gave up the list of movies i have at around 450 or so....mind you, some of those tapes might have a couple movies on them.  Actually, i'd like to get rid of a few boxes of them for more room.
Hmmm...that shows me that i had a lot more time for other things before this computer stuff came along!

"Charlie Wilson's War" - Best flick I've seen in years. Tom Hanks and Phillip Seymour Hoffman were excellent.
It was actually a comedy and true.

Want to see a lot of Triumphs in a movie? Watch "Quadrophenia" (by The Who). regarding the riots between the mods and rockers. Mods of course with their vespa's and lambretta's and the rockers are all pretty much driving Triumphs.

I finally got a chance to see Charlie Wilson's War and it was great. Phillip Seymour Hoffman's sarcasm in the film is just right and the dialogue in the movie was great. Didn't surprise me though when I saw that Aaron Sorkin had done the screenplay.

No Country for Men was very good, not the usual Cohen brothers style They also put out Oh Brother, Where Art Thou. Great movie based on Homer's Odyssey. Watched Eastern Promises last night, pretty good movie. I Am Legend was entertaining, I didnt pick up on the religious overtones, but I dont pay attention to that kind of stuff anyway. Now I'm waiting for There Will Be Blood with Daniel Day-Lewis. That looks awesome,and he was great in his last movie Gangs of New York, which I also enjoyed alot

My wife's parents treated us to "I am Legend" the other night. I need some splainin' please - the scene where Will Smith gets caught in a trap - did I slip into a coma for 5 minutes or so? Who moved Fred, and who set the trap? An assumption that the night folk did it, or that Smith had a memory lapse etc., doesn't cut it for me. Nothing else in the movie supports either theory. It probably cost 2 plus million to film that disjointed piece, so what was the deal?
Another WTF? moment: Pirates of The Carribean III was on TV the other night - who was the little kid hanged in act one, and what was his coin about? It was not one of the 9 pieces of eight, (I don't think?) FWIW, IMDB claims POTC III started filming without a script. I enjoyed the movie, especially Kieth Richards as a Pirate, but would tend to believe the no script part.

Hot Fuzz - very funny, featuring Simon Pegg from Sean of the Dead. Blood Diamond - set in Sierra leone, gripping film about a fight for a precious diamond and a fathers struggle to find his young soldier son. Apocalypto - very good film. watch it.

The largely unknown "A Murder of Crows" is worth the rental and so is "Scotland, PA" one of those Sundance films that didn't get around the country.

I like it, great ending. Still have yet to see "No Country", it doesn't seem to have been in many areas, at least in my travels.
If you like that genre, look for "Things to Do in Denver When Your Dead".
Picked up Monty Python's "Holy Grail" last week at Walmart for $5. I'd loveto get "Life of Brian" as well.

That wasnt a bad movie at all. I liked it.
I just picked up a copy of George Lucas' director's cut of THX1138 on DVD. I liked the original, this one is probably going to be even better.
