Just received and installed the Rivco Risers on my 2007 America. Absolutly the best mod I have ever done. Feels like a completely new bike.
I have shorter arms (in proportion to my legs) So the long legs was placing me at the back part of the seat but my arms were pushing the limits.
The whole feel of the bike when cornering has changed (easier to turn in and make any adjustment in the corner), much safer overall. Also because I can sit a bit more upright, the slight tailbone pain has eased.
Prior to purchase, I checked the archived posts and decided this was the way to go. Thanks to the BA forum for the valuable information.

I also put some Rivco risers on my 05 Speedmaster about 18 months ago. When I first installed them they hit my instrument panel and the end of the bars would hit as well. A called NewBonniville.com and they said "we made a mistake and they don't fit Speedmasters only America's. I was looking forward to the two inches of set back because my Bruiser Customs seats riding position is lower and further back (nice). I didn't want to give them up so i fabricated a stearing stop/limiter for the stearings degree of rotation. I rod it this way for a year but the bar ends were twisted up to miss the tank and ergonomicly sucked. Finally i made some 7/8 inch thick blocks slitly larger than the foot print of the riser and they look and work great. One suggestion for you concerning the risers is to make sure you inspect the mating area where the risers meets the top yoke as I experienced some lose of clear coating and the aluminum started to corrode. I just cleaned it well and put some more clear coat on it. Nice looking Risers. Enjoy! Gary

I put the risers on my 07 America and have to agree, the change made the front end feel more solid , and the ride position more comfotable. And doesn't the polished chrome look much better than the stocks.

For me the risers work well but I'm not sure you can compare as I have the single, thin padded Bruiser Custom MC seat sold on NewBonneville.com, they are on a Speedmaster, my inseam is 33 and I'm 6-1 with long arms. I too experienced a more sold cornering feel when I put the seat on the bike and since I sit about 3 inches lower than a stock seat the wind hits me way different than with the stock seat (crusing at 70for long distance is not a problem at all. Altogether the combo of seat and rivco risers (with my mods.) made it a differnt feeling and with much improved looking lines (IMO). I'm going riding - its sunny, 59 degrees and dry. Happy New Year, Gary

On the Speedmaster the brake line at the master cylinder hits slightly on the upper yoke. The limiter on the master cylinder that the banjo fitting stops at will not let me turn it to miss(not a big issue). All the other cables and wires fit fine. The risers are over all lower in height than the stock SM risers. I also made a new speedometer mount from stainless steel that allows the speedometer to sit lower and further back which gives a more porportioned look in that area. Gary

Not sure I am 6'1" with a 36" imseam. Thus my problem, long legs. I tend to sit back in the seat and my arms were a bit short causing me to hunch over. No longer a problem.

Prior to doing getting the risers, I read all the archived forums. There was a mention of the throttle cables needing to be moved to the right side of the tank. I had the carbies off for rejetting around a month before I received the risers so I moved the cables "just in case". With the cables moved there are definitly no issues.

right side of the tank...jim's spacers...some have not had to move cables. at > an inch i'd bet for the rivcos the throttle cables shift we must.

Update on Risers for Speedy RIVCO now makes a riser for the Speedy as the ones for the America won't work as noted above. Just spoke with Holly regarding this and there is a specific one available for the Speedy. My site offers a choice, be sure to ask where ever you buy for the part number you need for the Speedy is RIVCO Part Number: TS017 eddy

So, on an America, do you have to move the throttle cable position or can it work the way they are? I've been thinking about the risers and didn't know how much trouble installing would be.
If you have to move them. What is the easiest way to do it?

Change out the risers, bring your steering to full right lock and see if the engine revs. If it does, then move the throttle cables, else leave em alone.
Remove the tank and (I did) undo the connections at the carbs.
Your bigger job will be removing the lower riser underside nut' s without stripping them.
Get some zip ties, you'll want them.
The job is methodical but easy. Two spanner rating. Or more if you are from Kentucky. Love ya JR Mean it...

What Moe said!
I put a set of Speedy risers on my America and all I did was re-route the cables as noted by Moe and they work fine, NEVER a problem.

I guess it will be my next bike addition. I wish I could sit on a bike that had the Rivco risers. I'm 6' tall with stock seat and do feel like I have to lean forward sometimes. When I travel on the bike I use a Tombstone Backrest Bag that is comfortable with padded backrest, but as I relax, I find I'm having to lean forward a bit. An up and back riser seems like the perfect solution.

Now I don't feel so bad... I already have Harley bars that are back a bit, and still have to lean forward...Have a backrest bag, but unlike the Harley, there's more room on the Triumph! I'm almost 6 inches away from the backrest... or else the sissy bar is just back furthur... but I'm only 5'6" Maybe Heritage bars like the ones on my Harley, but where do you find longer cables, especially clutch cables.. the stock one will not fit! Thanks Mary

I am considering n '07 Speedmaster cause I like the dual discs and Mulberry color, but want the America bars and Rivco Risers. I'll be going to a solo seat. Will changing out to the America handle bars and Rivco Risers work on the Speedmaster? Then what about the cable length? There's also those Buckhorn HighLander style bars that are available from BelaCorse....they seem to get you up and back. Thanks for any insights you can offer.

they will work fine on the Speedmaster, should get the America break line and cables and route America throttle cables to the throttle side of the frame instead of the stock route. I put America bars on my speedmaster and 4 1/2" risers with 1 1/2" pull back. Got the risers from Ebay with a 1 piece cap and bolts for $39.

Hey dog, I bought the same set on the net, after getting your advice on them. Have'nt put them on though, cause even though you indicated that the wiring would be long enough, the stock risers already seem to make the wiring tight. Maybe I'll have to take some slack out of the headlight shell? I'm hoping not, cause I fitted a Trillient headlight last month, and it was so tight getting it in that I was hoping not to have to take it out again for a while. (looks awesome though, I can't wait to try it out at night.)

I like mine, don't forget you have to either drill your top tree or make/buy adapters. I don't remember if I had to pull any out of the headlight or not, shortly after I hid my wires in my bars so I cut and extended them all anyway but I know mine worked before I did that. My harness is under my tank now instead of in the headlight. I put a billet headlight on and had to unless I wanted to drill the new light.

I just installed the Risers on my '07 America also, but haven't riden it yet, still winter, I've ordered a set of stainless braided clutch and throttle cables so I am thinking of routeing the cables to the passenger side of the bike in the reinstall after reading some of these comments. sitting on the bike in the garage and dry steering while it is in the air, I haven't noticed any issues with the stock cables though, but I have found that the risers do touch the instrument cluster...on my america that they were made for. it wouldn't be an issue while driving cause I only turn that tight in parking lots so I will just need to adjust my parking/driving habits, but they will touch every time I lean the bike on the kick stand.
I might have to try what Blue05. has done.

The risers I put on Wendys bike used to do that, I cut a piece of heater hose and slid it over the steering stop on the frame. Then secured it with a hose clamp. Problem solved.

I installed the Rivco risers today on my 07 America. No problems with the cables or hitting the instr. panel. So far I like the handling changes immediately. True comfort test will have to wait until I get out for a 100+ mile day.
