Where can we get a vented fuel cap that will fit our bike?
I'm guessing Harley caps will not fit otherwise most would have an after market one on their bikes. What I want to do is get a vented cap so that I can remove the fuel tank vent hose all together.
TBA, Stainless extractors / drag pipes, 65mm over forward controls, Thruxton needles, 904cc, head ported, lowered 1-inch, Console removed, relocated battery box, Australia.

The fuel caps on our bikes are vented. The hose, is a tip-over fail-safe to keep fuel frompouring out if she goes over. Whats the issue? G

Not a good idea to remove the vent hose because it also serves as an overflow hose if you overfill your tank. with the hose gone gas will spill all over your motor. BOOM!
if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

There's a discussion of this issue here: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post272032Including a blurb about my modified Kury. I capped my tank vent with a vacuum cap & seal all.
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.

I'm in the process of gathering all the parts to relocate battery under seat and tidy up all wiring etc, so I thought if I could get rid of this hose it is one less thing I have to hide .

I'm in the process of relocating my gas cap and I've been contemplating what to do with that tube. I'll probably just block it off. I've got a new (monza-style) vented cap to go in the new Harley gas filler bung.

My understanding was that the stock caps were not vented. There is an overflow tube, but the stock caps can build up a vacuum because they are not vented (makes hard to remove). When I went to the vented type Brent sells (Kuryakyn), I no longer ever had any vacuum build up in the tank.

Thats what I thought re non vented, probably a few different opinions as stated above but anyway I will be removing my hose once I get the vented fuel cap installed.

I dont mind what you do on your bike, within reason, but the fact that the cap is vented is not an opinion. It is based on taking a cap apart and LOOKING at the vent. Good luck with the project. G
