Reverse order of assembly... Doh!!! Does this mean pay attention during dis-assembly?
TBA / TBS: There is a coiled spring that sits on the rear brake pedal retaining bolt between the brake pedal and the frame. The spring has two tangs. Does one of the tangs of this spring fit into the small hole on the brake lever, or does it just rest on the side of the arm of the lever??
Thanks.

Yep, the straight spring tang goes in the hole and the angled tang fits around the pedal arm. It will only fit one way and you'll know when it's right.

Thats what I thought. Just wanted to make sure. The Triumph Manual does not say anything about it and when you put it on that way, there does not appear to be a lot of return force. I'll put the whole assemly back together and see how it feels.
Thanks again.

It really needs the bolt thru there to give a proper fulcrum, then you'll feel it work.

Thanks, all set. It really came good when I mounted the master cyl. It pulls the brake pedal forward and provides the preload.
Thanks again.

Forward? Preload? You don't mean it pulls the pedal in the direction you push with your foot,do you?

If you have a digital camera, snap some pictures of it before it gets dismantled. I do drum brake shoes this way.

I know, it depends from what direction you look at the bike, should have been more specific..
When you mount it all up, it pulls the back of the lever up or moves (rotates) the pedal forward (in the direction you push. This puts a preload on the spring, which causes it to return back when you take your foot off the lever.
