Good article, although toward the end there is a spelling mistake. It mentions "Draft legislation...", shouldn't it be Draught legislation?

Speaking of Guinness have you ever tried an Irish Car Bomb? I was at a maintenance conference at the end of October and someone bought me an Irish Car Bomb (Guinness in a mug and drop in a shot of Jamisons Whiskey and some Bailey's Irish Cream and chug). They are actually pretty good before the night was over I drank at least a half dozen Irish Car Bombs, needless to say morning came way too quick. Good stuff though, next time at a bar that has Guinness on tap try one!

Ooohh Ron - 1/2 doz car bombs!!??! Ouch!!!! I know!!!! But they are VERY yummy. It does work with other stouts, my first was actually with a locally brewed "Guinness"esq beer. The problem with something that tastes like a mocha and has that much alcohol....the next morning can be quite painful - I did it on St. Patricks day this year! The ride home from Vegas on the bike was not the most pleasant.

Ahhh, attended the Univ. Wisconsin-Stevens Point 72-76. While my major on paper was in the College of Natural Resources, my minor was in social studies, weekly classes held on the market square Thursday-Sunday.

I find this to be true with the Guinness exported from Ireland (look for the 11th character "J" in the product ID code).

Whereas the fake Guinness imported to the US from Canada (yes, "bottled under the authority of .... yada yada yada) having a "T" in the 11th character, does not have the same soul nourishing properties.

Keep in mind the ingredients and crasftsmanship are essentially the same.

Guess it comes down to a matter of choice.

God Bless the Irish,

Tom

I was told (by an Irishman) that the Guinness found in the states is made by Budweiser, thus not blessed as the Dublin stuff. On the other hand, Budweiser found in the UK is bottled by Guinness.
Not sure how true any of that is...

I was at the Guinness brewery last week. After 10 days in Ireland I can say the Guinness there is much better than the Guinness here in the States. I'm not sure why that is. They have just come out with a new brew called five star. It's the best yet but isn't in the pubs yet and it may take years before we see any here in the U.S.

that bottled stuff from labatts is muck ,its also a bit different from guinness as its an extra stout, its also where the "guinness is good for you" came from . thank the good lord for widgets
