Just so you folks up north don't feel too bad about us in Florida having nice riding in the winter, red tide has been back over 3 weeks here on the central east coast. If you've never experienced it, it is an algea bloom in the ocean that blows in from time to time and brings stench, dead fish and irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. I ride up A1A next to the Atlantic, 25 miles each way, and the tearing swollen eyes, burning nose and nasty cough is almost too much. I now have modified my visor to make it more snugged and goggle style, and wear a bandana over my nose and mouth. Oh yeah, I was so inspired I wrote my first haiku-
"Eyes red tide tearing. Bittersweet Triumph moment. Riding still a smile."
OH yeah, this must have been brought on by BA.com withdrawal....so don't blame me for bad haiku. Later, Tom.
