Does anyone know if the America's ignition switch has a resistor built into it (as with most Japanese makes) or is the resistor inline somewhere? The reason is: replacing the stock switch with a Harley dash mounted switch. The Harley switches do not have the resistor built in.
Or..does Triumph even use an ignition resistor?
BTW, the resistor is in the wire for the ignitor system. Maybe Triumph uses a different system...

On my 03 speedie it is just a plain switch There is an electrical diagram in the technical section will this tell you if there is a resistor?

Nope.. no resistor, quit using those back in the days of breaker point ignition systems.

With the electronic ignition system on the newer Triumphs, there is no need for a ballast resistor so, any switch that goes on and off will do. For that matter, if you were doing a theme bike and it fit in, you could use a house light switch.
