 Short pipes I don't understand

why don't they make the pipe end right at the ear hole??? I mean the pipe ends right at where the rider sits. And for a matter of stopping you might as well suck the exhast fumes from a garden hose. Yes short pipes are a style I just don't get???

Some are just too short, they are more for show than go. At the same time, I like mine short enough that they don't bang into the curb when I park.

You should have seen my old flathead. It had fishtails that ran up the back of the sissybar. No baffles either.  At least my girlfriend didn't bother trying to talk or, at least, I couldn't hear her.
