It's only noon, and it's already warmed up to 30F! Might be able to go for a ride later without worrying about the tires freezing to the ground.

It's in the teens here and I just saw two Harleys out for a ride.

I'm ashamed.

Ah yes, I can remember when I used to ride in 40 degree weather, before I got older and my coconuts shriveled up! Ride on fella's, ride on!

I ran to the store, with snow falling and saw six guys ice fishing on the reservoir. I think I'll stay close by the fire and am not ashamed.

I got up this morning at the crack of ten and saw it was snowing out - not really sticking to the ground yet - immediately thought "what a nice day for a ride!"
A little chilly out but not too bad - pretty cool zipping through the big fluffy snowflakes
Stopped and bought some cocoa powder though...figured a nice cup with some Brendans and a fire to look forward to would make the ride even better

I've ridden in the 20s before, without heated gear. I don't really plan on repeating that feat. Seeing the looks on people's faces was pretty fun, but not that fun.

It was about 80F this past week on my day off, so I scooted off on the bike to enjoy it. Now, 2 days later, it's about 30F and nasty! If you don't like the weather in Texas...just wait 5 minutes.

Hate to rub this in to all my friends in New England but it was 75 here in Atlanta today and Brett and I had a nice 200 mile ride out into the country side.

75 here today too, so took the wife Christmas shopping on the bike.

It does get cold here and I will go as low as 28 with no precip, then I am a dedicated cager.

I figure it is like snowmobiling or skiing (and dress like that). Cold, fun, and still laughing past the SUV's at the gas pumps. Hot coffee at the end of the ride to thaw your innards.

Not sure of the temp but we are having an ice storm at the moment. Started as rain now everything has a thin coat of ice and is still coming down.My bike is probably put away until spring. In my younger days I couldn't afford the insurance on a car so all I had was my bike. Didn't matter how cold or what was on the ground I had to ride to get to work and anywhere else.

53 this morning for our weekly breakfast ride. Brilliant sunshine and a high of 80. Coming back I stopped and reserved a van for an upcoming family road trip. Leaving the parking lot I had to wait til a line of about 1500 or 2000 bikes passed on their annual toy run. We opted out this year. The organizers have everyone ride 2 abreast, and a complete stranger will be about a foot behind your rear tire. Mostly loud HDs and clones, I spotted 1 Legend and a Speed Triple.

Has anyone installed heated grips? Like riding in above 40 but the hands get cold. Don't like the bulky gloves so thought about the grips. Not sure if they will work on our bikes because of the amp draw.

I ride down to 28F with a set of HardGear mountain climber mittens. Very thin and double windstop (laid orthogonal). Riding in mittens takes some practice, but the science is sound, mittens over gloves will keep your hands MUCH warmer. (less surface area).

Don't worry about it, only way to keep them from overheating. Uh oh, now Mark is going to be mad at me. I feel shame.
