any one have any comment on single saddle side bag? came across a site that is selling solo saddle bags, one bag only. http://www.lickscycles.com/catalog/check it out give me some info, opinions or just whatever.

Nice bag, but, One? just sounds like it would look wrong.... never seen one. For $200? how does it mount? Call me a traditionalist. Ride safe!

Great idea if you're running a V Twin with both pipes up one side of the bike... specially if they've got some up-sweep. Otherwise if you were interested in having luggage wouldn't you want two?

don't like it at all except possibly to get some where with clothes for the next day then remove it before anyone sees it.

Well, you could get one of these and start dating Heather Mills... then you could remove one passenger peg and complete the look....

Vera has her left on as she rests in the garage this morning. What's the concern bout one bag on a motorsickle? from the right she looks good, from the left she looks good from the front you ain't lookin at her and from the rear you ain't lookin fer long.
all the time i ride with one (solo) saddle bag. ezbrackets is too easy. symmetry is lost on single sided swingarms so symmetry taint no concern. what be concern is function. simple obvious baseline function. don't like the looks? oh well get over it or find something else to waste yer time on...

Well, to me it seems that the whole point of cycling is balance to start with so a solo bag would work well if there was a balancing object on the opposite side. In the case of the example, it was a Sportster with dual exhausts on the right side. A single bag would be perfect with, say, scrambler exhausts or an upswept two into one set up. Not swo good on a stock Speedy or America IMO.

Good Day Ed, How goes that used ignitor? Me? I shore hope getting a new skin on the rear leads me not where you have been.  Speaking in general now: Balance is important when one carries a motorsickle battery in one and a 12 pack in the other.  But when rolling with miscellaneous light stuff the weight is immaterial! Box lunch from the China Inn for example. Or one's glasses for after work when the sun has gone to bed. Or spare clothes for the lower temps round Stuckway road. Even heavier objects will not throw off one's balance at legal speeds. (that is if one is mindful of said imbalance) Our sickles look best without saddlebags. Thus when the need arises, I'll use one if I can and leave one side of my motorsickle looking good while the other looks not so good... well time for me to resume attending to cinnamon girl. Gotta see if the pingel leaks, the new horn works, scuff up the new rear 880, heat her up and change her oil, ride her a bit and see about the adjustment on her new chain kit, and observe how much drivetrain slack the t'bird cush took away. Speaking of pingels, when using a rat tile file to enlarge the fuel tank's petcock hole, flip the file round so the pull strokes bite! Took less than 5 minutes to enlarge the whole. Why was it that I did not have to enlarge the whole on Vera's tank? seems the Pingel Stalk diameter has changed.

Thanks for the hijack so I can explain:
The used ignitor works very well, maybe better than the original and Lizzie is running great and starting immediately even on 28 degree mornings. However, there's a catch: I reset the pickup coil gap to 0.8mm before I fired her up as it was apparently at a little over 1.0mm from the factory. The RobBA05 sugggested I retry the old ignitor before attempting a run at Peter Carleo for a replacement and sure enough it fired right up as well. Now I have to take a trip with the old module and see if it will fail again...I'll be waiting for longer days and warmer weather for that...
As for the balance comment, I didn't mean running balance, I meant visual balance which is the companion of running balance. To me the beauty of a balanced line echoes the reality of the neccessary balance required to stay upright. Judging from some of the custom "art" bikes I see, horsepower can force any bike upright but balanced, flowing lines that lead the eye are what define beauty. Just my opinion, and as everyone is already aware I am frequently wrong

I got news for you, I always look at them from the rear, ....ugh, the bike I mean... and it looks too much like a big purse to me.

Seems to me that the bike would handle funny if you put much in it or went very fast with the imbalanced drag.

I usually ride with one bag, 'cept for long trips. $$, seems like ya could get a full set and just use one, plus that bag seems a bit small. If $$ no prob then get what ya want, who cares what others think----its what ya need/suit your purpose that counts

I like the look of bags on the bike... I've seen lots of single bags on old pics of bonnies  I recently purchased some large angled throwovers. Two quetsions: Is it vital I purchase the support that bolt on? Can the pillion seat be removed and placed over the center of the throwover? The idea of throwing the bag over and riding is giving me visions of the bags blowing off the bike at speed. As you can tell I'm new to saddlebags :P
