Hi Guys / Gals
I bought a used 05 BA, and I wanted to adjust the idle mixture; so I bought the D tool from Brent and the first screw went smooth as silk. Then the second screw would not budge. It was so bad that when I tried to use a little muscle it just rounded out the soft D tool that I had bought. I managed to hack saw a slot into the mixture screw, while still in the carb (SCARY), and then removed it with a flat head screw driver. When I went to remove it, it was very difficult to turn for a second then smoothed right out. I cleaned out the hole by spraying wd40 up into it and letting any debris run out. OK, I then bought the mixture screws from Brent that you can turn by hand. One went in fine, and the one on the side I had trouble with seemed to go in fine; but you can visibly see that they are not at the same height. It looks like it isn’t going in all the way. For the record I did remove the spring, washer, and o-ring. Looking into the hole, the threads look very rough about half way down. I was thinking about getting a TAP to run down in there and clean them up but I would like to hear any second opinions and find out if anybody knows what size tap I should use.
Thanks
Brad
